Now I'm really questionning the simple idea of buying HT first releases. It seems that they will always come up with a new/improved version of their figures.

I couldn't care less about seeing my figures' value decreasing (anyways, I never planned to sell them) but I must admit that, I may be a bit upset to see all these new releases turning my first issues figures into some kind of "subproduct".

Well I bought the new Batman OC, the new Mark 2 AU, both Batman and Joker DXs, maybe this time I'll just try to buy the new HS and the accessories on Ebay.

People act like Hot Toy is going to re-release every figure ever made. How many have then done so far?

I would imagine the case will be true with their most popular lines, Batman, Iron Man, Predator, Alien

But of course in the other cases, they don't complete the line in the first place.
It all depends on demand, people want all the Iron Man stuff, and as long as people will buy it, then they can make it.

The more remakes that come, the more customers will question this and decide in favour.

That is bad news for Hot Toys when customers wait for the next remake to get the characters and less get the current one than would have if it was the only one made.

Its not the case just yet, but as more remakes are made itwill set the trend of waiting for the next and HT will ultimatley go bust

:exactly::goodpost: It drives me Crazy seeing people write " I could care less". I gave up correcting them because there are just way to many on here that say that and most people get super offended when you point this out to them!

I could care less about this. Meaning I care but I probably could get around caring a little less. ;)

they have rereleased 3 jokers, 3 batmen, 2 mark 3s, 1 mark 2, 1, mark 1, 1 mark 4, etc, etc, i don't want to list any more but go look at a hot toys product list

As I predicted and others have- a natural- HT wants a piece of that secondary market price pie!!! Can't wait as I never got the original!

Their re-releasing wouldn't make me question buying the first of a new figure. If it does get re-released 2, 3, 4 years down the road, oh well. But that's a few years longer I'd have to wait, if it ever does come.

Really, this mostly just hurts the secondary markets. When they make TDKR Bane, I'm not going to think, "Maybe I should wait, in case they make another one." If it looks good, I'll get it. But if I really wanted a T2 T-800, I'd definitely think about skipping eBay, and hoping for a re-release / similar release.

That's not an entire lot considering their library of products. If you notice the pattern falls with very few franchises that are in high demand anyhow.

*sighs, puts mod hat on*

Alright. The insults, the condescension, the popcorn gifs, may they end as of now if you please. I'm gonna try to clean this thread up a bit, but I don't enjoy wasting my time on things like this.

In other words, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. My avatar is wearing a Jason mask for crying out loud.

This is why many are sick of these lines, and angry at them while other lines barely get one of the characters, let alone a remake of it.

I only have the Bank Robber Joker.... and that's not really a rerelease, is it?

I have the original suit TDK Batman and didn't go for the new rereleased version. So some times people ARE happy with their original and don't need or want to upgrade.

That said, I'm very eager for Indiana Jones 2.0 already! :D

I don't get why people get so upset when HT does this and people want to buy a second version. Why does this bother some folks to the point they start insulting? I mean its not your money.

I doubt many are sick of these lines otherwise they wouldn't be making them. I think what it is you are sick of these lines because you want something else made. Let's at least be honest about things.

:lecture

Was perfectly fine keeping my OC TDK Bats and passing on the new one.

Indy 1.0 has to sell in order for there to be a 2.0 :lol

No. BRJ was a standard release in that line that came with an additional head to improve the Joker. Now you could argue that the Joker DX was a re-release on the first Joker offering since it included upgrades to the Purple Joker look (which ironically is being re-released itself into a 2.0).

Of the list rattled off the way to look at the "upgrades" were: Mk3=Mk3 BD, Mk2=Mk2AU, Joker=JokerDX=JokerDX2.0, BB Batman=TDKOC=Bruce/Wayne "First Night Out", TDKBatman=Batman DX. Batman pieces have been redone three times in some cases.

The only one to have been straight re-released was the Mk4 which is now included in the gantry setup if you bought it. From the sound of what HT announced on their FB the new Mark I isn't a re-release (the reissuing of the same exact figure) but another upgrade. Not that it makes people feel any better but there is a thin line between the two. It was only a matter of time really until they went back to the wells to capitalize on the secondary hubbub. If people are willing to fork out $700 for a Mark I it's only good business sense to release one for less that people would buy despite whether or not the individual collector like it or whether people think it's good practice for them to do.

Bank Robber Joker isn't a remake, just the same character in a different version, DX01 is and Joker 2.0 is, and even with the Bank robber joker not being one, five Jokers is alot no matter how popular the character is.

They've done it for semi-popular lines as well. Remember the Superman Returns line had both a Clark Kent and a Superman before it had a 2 in 1 that improved on both.
