I think people are not being realistic. Some guys here that pre-order everything are coming in under 5k does not make much sense. Plus, many are not counting low end stuff which is really the killer here. All the low end transformers, crap bowen pieces, neca/Mcfarlane toys and wall art from when I was first starting out easily added another $1000+ to my total.

yea, I've spent prolly around $2k just on prints and art books , but I haven't been collecting as long as most of you.

The current figure cost (including pre-orders) is $4976.89. Include movie posters, framing and detolfs the current total is closer to $6k.

The overall dollar count is much higher since I sold a large portion of my collection.

Way too much...I probably spend $7-10K a year...Currently I have about $7000 in pre-orders, and still waiting for Hot Toys Toy Fair exclusives...also seeing all that goodness from SDCC, I think it probably be another $7k...

Nothing is wasted as long as you don't break any of your collection.. Wasting money to me is when you spend it on things that you can't get back, like say buying junk food.. Once you eat it, it's gone.

well l always could of saved it instead. my PFs are not wasted money. l can sell those and get my money back. l wasted alot of money on 1/6 stuff over the years. l broke alot of small parts on them. did lots of customizing. and once you alter parts and do weathering those parts aren't worth much. so now l really watch how l spend my money on 1/6 stuff.

This is a disturbing thread. I would say off the top of my head around 55k but at least another
7k in orders. The other day I insured my collection for 70k to be on the safe side. I figure I'm not
stopping anytime soon. Like I said it's very disturbing seeing as though I started collecting SS
around the time I joined this site.
