looks sweet. didn't like the movie enough to get it though so congrats to those who do. :duff

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I haven't been in this thread a lot, but does anyone think that the feet may just be "stand ins" similar to how spider-man had those thick non-poseable boots int he proto pics but once released it had the cloth boots? I particulary don't like the jointed toes, but it won't stop me from getting it. I just tihnk a solid foot would look better

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Not sure... on the feet. They do look pretty basic and that is one joint that seems on the unslightly side.

I'd actually be fine with swappable feet; one pair flat and the other crouched. But if the feet are the worst aspect of the figure I'll be fine :lol

Man, every HT release turns into a whine-fest almost immediately...
some people really need to get a life...
Amazing piece, detail is great! And the scale is perfect!
:rock!

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I just got a ruler and measured 18". It's really frickin big. I think it would be the largest 1/6 piece ever made. I can't think of anything bigger.
it's the tallest HT figure. the biggest 1/6 character i've seen is the SkyW Aliens Queen (36").

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I dont know why people like to _____ about my IMO... There are many figures in the past that HT did that had joints... I guess some HATERS are going to HATE no matter what they get??? IMO...
when a face sculpt looks real, some people just prefer that illusion of realism is maintained throughout the ENTIRE fig, top to bottom. when visible poas break that illusion, they become very distracting.

that's why some people, including me, only own about a dozen of ht figs, and not 30 like you. we dont want toyish looking figs hanging around our realistic figs.

I'm surprised some are annoyed about the joints, I can be really fussy about things like that, like the BL DX for example, I won't display that shirtless with all the open joints but I don't think there that visible on this figure like with the new Preds. I think this figure is ____ing awesome, there's always room for improvement & we know HT will tweak it before releasing it. I can't wait to see pictures of this at SDCC
the poas are not visible? how about the crotch and the shoulders joints? they're actually well exposed, not at all hidden. the preds have dark skin texture and shoulder armors and straps to help hide joints. this is a 18" tall blue tarzan. if you can see the joints in that little promo pics now, imagine seeing them in 18" of the real thing.

Clearly there is nothing Hot Toys can not do! The detail on this is amazing, maybe even tops the Iron Man Mark I.
that's just hype talking, imo. nothing tops ht's mark 1 in details. :lecture

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

So I'm guessing this body will get used at least 3 times; Final Battle Jake, Jake from earlier in the movie and a figure of Tsu'tey.

Tsu'tey would need a new chest, but other then that it should be able to be reused for him

that's a good idea. Like how the Clones are from SS. But the feet are just a minor nitpick of mine

in comes the complainer comlplaining about the complainers :rotfl

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

this does look brilliant, even the joints, you can't expect miracles, you want a figure? a figure equals articulation, covered joint limit articulation

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Yeah ive really gone off the rubber bodies i'd much rather see some joints than have rubber with limited articulation wonky looking elbows/ knee's when posed and possible deterioration.

I can see Sully getting the DX treatment but I would of originally guessed that the DX would be the Final Battle Jake. Maybe we will get a DX Neytiri with Wheelchair Jake.

Quaritch is a must though, and a coffee cup better be an accessory :lol

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I'd see a DX Jake that comes with human Jake in a wheel chair and also Avatar Jake in his military uniform with swappable Na'vi clothes. but I think that may just be wishful thinking. But we definitely need Quaritch and Neytiri, no question

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I'm no Avatar fan, so for a moment there I thought this was an announcement for James Sulley from Monsters Inc.

In theory yes... but likely they will just call it "good enough" and just go with this body.
