Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

It has nothing to do with being broke, or ABLE to pay it. It has to do with people buying at those stupid prices, and then scalpers go and see that and inflate the price because of what a couple sold at, ruining it for people who like to spend their money more intelligently.

Scalpers have been around as long as this Hobby has. And they're not going away. Some are professional Scalpers (buy as many as possible) and some may buy one or two to sell so they can support their habit. I really like this Batman and plan on picking one up, but if someone is willing to pay me enough were I could pay for two other pre-orders I have, i may be tempted to sell it. I'm sure I won't though, because these Hot Toys always look better in hand, lol.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

OT, but I think there is a misconception that all people who don't want to pay the high prices are poor, broke, or otherwise don't have the means. If I wanted to, I could pay those kinds of prices, but I don't want to and don't think I should be forced to just because a few other people are doing it.

We don't know how or who will handle preorders yet, but it would be a shame to be put into a situation where the primary option is the secondary market where prices are being guided by flippers, hoarders, and people with no ceiling on what is being paid.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

He is able to be posed like that because HT doesnt care about the rubber ripping since it is for a photo shoot only.

And how the hell can someone have 10 of these to sell, aren't these limited to one a customer, even if he goes to all the cons, he can't get 10. Also he can't use other people to buy for him cause who the hell would want to lose out on a profit buying and flipping themselves.

I smell a scam brewing with the seller.

Not necessarily. Asians usually have huge family members, they'll prolly drag their bro, sis, dad, mom, aunt, uncle, grandma, cousin etc and have them lined up for him.

I really wished hot toys would make a new and more accurate cowl sculpt instead of just reusing the old one, by hey its still great so im not going to complain, and that 3 face expressions is a plus.

yeah, I think we are in the minority here. I hope adam's version will have a swappable mouth piece expression too:pray:

Yeah I understand what your saying. Like the guy on eBay who sold his 1st two figures quick, so the next two he put up to buy inflated by £50, £60. It's HT that annoys me though. I understand Mk IV being an exclusive because he doesn't feature in the film but this, so many people are going to want this. A figure like this everyone should get the equal opportunity to buy one. It sucks but still at the end of the day I've got to have this, I'm just waiting for one of the sellers of eBay who I trust to put it up. At least we won't have along wait to get this in hand

So now you're insulting the guy. Wow, class. :cuckoo:

I'd say the fact that he's reserved his and gets to enjoy peace of mind is a hell of a lot more intelligent than winging it on the slim chance of actually nabbing one in the hectic panic of a potential nightmarish PPO. :huh

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I didn't insult anyone, I dismissed a spending habit. Though I think it's funny you go the high and mighty route calling people who don't like throwing away cash like that, "cheap babybirds."

Slim chance? The figure is going to be available at more than 1 Con, and considering how readily available the set from last year is I doubt there's going to be a problem for anyone to get one.

I called the people who expect him to justify his expenditures "cheap babybirds." It's his cash. If he doesn't feel like he's throwing it away, it's not up to you to decide if he is or isn't. It's his money. There's nothing high or mighty about it. But it is hella douchy to tell someone they're an idiot for spending it how they see fit.

As for slim chance, we'll see. You've been around long enough to know how this works. And comparing the selling status an OC Batman to a higher-priced, less demanding Scarecrow and Demon Batman is frankly ludicrous. Looking at the page count here, alone, once can see this will be a lot more chaotic than the Scarecrow and Demon Batman.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, even last years exclusive Pred doesn't seem to be selling so hot anymore.

People see "exclusive" and think the worst, despite the fact the Bat won't be exclusive to just one con, not only that, the timing ain't so hot. Thor just came out, Spidey is on the horizon, Tracker Pred too, so there's a bunch of stuff coming at the same time as well.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

the specs on the mark IV secret project has it is limited edition but the specs on this doesn't say anything about being limited. i think there will be enough supply at the end of the day hot toys ain't stupid, they know the demand is there, they are in the business of making money.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

this new head will fit in the old Batman OC??

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Scalpers make up a tiny percentage of any market, but they usually provide a service that is extremely valuable to those who are willing to pay their prices. They don't have an effect on the market at large. Most people who buy this will get it for retail. The only people who will pay out the nose are those who want to secure theirs before the rush hits, and those who missed the boat. Neither of those parties 'deserve' a lower price, and they aren't paying it because the scalper is charging it. They're paying it because at the times that they're buying it, that is what it's worth. If you want retail prices, be there when the retail price is.
