But the fact is that Sideshow has made quite a few missteps, such as with the helmet on their 1/6 scale Vader. It never looked right to me, right from the very beginning when people were exclaiming about how excited they were to see the sneak preview image. Then when it came out everybody was rushing to mod their helmets so they would look better.

Yeah, Vader's dome always looked a bit off to me as well, but honestly it seems the issues were more of placement than shape as lowering it seemed to make a huge difference. But Sideshow has definitely had some issues when it comes to getting the helmets **just right**.

As for the teaser it looks good to me, but I'm not aware enough of the subtleties to be able to see if this is off or not.

I'd guess the PF will have some poseability or at least swap out pieces to encourage multiple purchases.

I wish that were the case here. As others have said it could be the angle, by my reservations have nothing to do with any intimate knowledge I have of SW or Stormtrooper designs. I just look at it and the proportions just seem a bit off some how.

Hopefully its just the photo because the WIP shots looked great.

Actually for me, if I want to nitpick, the WIP shots looks more out of proportion.

sideshow's claim that they had to do an idealized version due to discrepencies with the stormie helmet is nothiing more than a cop-out.

EFX/MR's lifesize bucket and GG's bust are much more accurate.

Having said that, no pf collection is complete without this.

Yeah Im not saying SS is perfect, but people have to remember there looking at a photo. With my limited photography knowledge I can say depending on how and where the photographer was standing your going to get varied perspectives. I mean you wouldnt get a true representation of the figure unless you were 100% dead center in front of it. Otherwise like most photos things can look off and proportions can become misrepresented. Like I stated before, I like star wars, but Im no where near as knowledgable as alot of guys on the boards. So I cant argue, Im just giving my opinion on the teaser photo at hand.
Im sure once people see some full size photos peoples minds might change and definetly once people see it in person Im sure alot of people will be happy.

Gods,

how long have I waited for this one.

I fear it's gonna be a fight to the death over this one on Thursday. :horror

Sorry I'm late to the party what are we _____ing about? :lol

It looks a little off to me too but I still like it and will probably try to pick it up.

I wonder if the arms will be flexible? Assuming not, but it would have been cool for those of us ordering multiples.
Also, I wouldn't mind a switch out Luke or Han head for the EX. :)

Maybe I'm being cynical, but I think it's more likely that they'd make those separate PFs.

I could see them reusing bodies if they did this right. Sell the heads for $50 a pop after the initial release. Takes up less space in their WH and I'm sure at $50 each they'll make a chunk of money.

They could carry this switch-out head idea over for Lando Skiff, Clone Trooper, Leia Boushh, Darth Vader, Emperor Palps/Sidious...off the top of my head.

Generally speaking, that's what exclusives are for. I don't see them selling heads separately for just anyone to buy. Exclusives get people to buy their PFs from Sideshow at a higher markup.
