Could they be waiting for the release of the Neca Predator to see if they should make improvements before showing photos? That way they would still be able to make corrections to make it better.
maybe. but we get a better figure overall from HT for $170. your sculpts are better, but not materials, accessories, or articulation, all of which contribute to the cost. as for paint, i'll believe it when i see it. history says otherwise, but i don't have anything painted at the new factory yet.
if NECA really wanted to impress HT collectors, they'd grow a pair and start making 1:6 preds with better sculpts, paint, and at least similar articulation and accessories. i still say you guys are too chicken to play in HT's back yard though. but i do agree for $80, this is a nice figure. easily the best thing NECA has made since the Balrog.
This is going to take longer then I thought, I was given a realease date of the end of this month in euorpe, but today I checked the status of my order and has now changed to the middle of June :-(
52.84 euros?!

were are you buying them in europe?
I suppose you were asking cultpredator. I pre-ordered mine on bbts.com although I live in Europe (Portugal).
This thing looks pretty good. Right off though, I want to replace the netting and give him a better paint job. The production paint job is good overall, but the way they relied on the translucency of the plastic too much gives him a really waxy look I'm not loving.
I don't think they care what NECA puts out. They will still make their version of the character and people will still buy it. It will still have its plus points.
Although this Predator sculpt knocks Hot Toys out of the park I would rather have this sculpt on a 1/6 figure with all HT good points. A NECA sculpt on a Hot Toys production piece would be great.
Where have you ordered yours from?

better hope that armor isn't a pain to remove then. my spider-sense is telling me it will be glued down pretty well and replacing the netting might be more of a hassle than it's worth. what are you gonna use for 1:4 scale netting though? This thing looks pretty good. I used to have my own Ebay shop and website that i ran for three years, so i had accounts with four different companies. Ive built up a good reputation with two of them and they agreed to keep my account open.. Yes from a wholesaler in Europe. I have all my stuff pre ordered from them with a 15 percent discount

Hey Goose since you were my first friend on here, Do you have the Falconer Neca Figure?
Lucky you.
Who on here will be commissioning paint jobs?
I don't have him no. Why do you ask?
I've seen him many times in my store and he looks great though. Paint was good and the sculpt is great.
Guys what would you do if Neca painted the netting?
I have an extra one here boxed and sealed up if you wish to have him? Just send me your address and ill ship him over
i would rather have sculpted ,painted netting that is movie accurate, then fabric netting that looks like chicken wire.also the fabric netting will be easy to tear, hard to clean when it gets dusty or soiled.
this is how i feel, only my opinion. theres really no excuse to not get the shape of the netting right, and to say the netting on a 1/4 p2 if made will be the same, is just neca saying they will buy it anyway, so why bother fixing it.imo.
I get that this is "your opinion" but come on..i would rather have sculpted ,painted netting that is movie accurate, then fabric netting that looks like chicken wire.also the fabric netting will be easy to tear, hard to clean when it gets dusty or soiled.

I'm sure the reason why the netting is the way it is (and why a P2 1/4th figure would have the same type) is because they probably did play around with the size and distribution of the netting holes and the way it fit over the body and the way it looks, and what we see now is probably the best balance of accuracy, durability, and ease of putting it on reliably and effeciently every time in a production line environment.
The material they used for the netting looks like a plastic nylon material, probably heat shrunk over the body once applied, for a tight fit. And from the pics I have seen, it looks like they use a a single piece of the netting material (like a full un-cut glove) for the torso, unlike the Hot Toys fabric netting with the "zip me up" backs.
In the end, these guys have been making figures for a long time, i'm sure extensive testing and development was put into the netting to get it as accurate as possible, while still being able to fit into the methods and limitations of production. There are probably dozens of reasons I can't even imagine as to why during the development, tooling, and production the netting looks the way it does.
