Thanks to Joe for this, he's great!

Actually, those are not the correct Gargolyes that were used in the film. Those are the second generation design. In the film, they used the first generation design. The difference is that these have the horizontal reinforcing bar on them,as well as those horizontal ribs, because the first model tended to break in the center. I know mine did. I saw these sunglasses in the movie and knew I had to have them, back in 1985. I got the bronze lenses, however. The other thing that is different about the first model Gargolyes is that the emblem on the nose bridge was chrome plated, to highlight the design. The Gargolyes you are looking for are called the Lunar Grey lenses. Gargolyes came out with a "Black Ice" colored lenses, which is blacker and darker, and looks similar, but a bit bluish. Needless to say, they don't make the first generation Gargolyes anymore.

Wow, you know your Gargoyles. I just got mine awhile ago and had to Frankenstein some parts with another pair I had.

I think these are the closest model I could find (is there a different one used for the movie?) Here's a close up:

I am going to have to retract something I said earlier. The emblem on the nose bridge was not chrome plated on the Gargoyles first gen. I was thinking of my full silver mirror lunar grey that I bought in 88 that still had the same shape nose bridge. The nose bridge on yours looks right. It is the smooth, first gen shape, but the emblem looks scuffed or something, and it should look more like the rest of the nose bridge in color. It looks like a gray circle there. Unfortunately, I no longer have my first gen bronzes, as I accidentally left them in an apron and the person I borrowed the apron from claimed that they weren't there. Made $40 and lost a $60 pair of shades. Humph.

Yeah, the one's used in the movies had noseguards that were a solid black color with a single Gargoyles emblem on it. Not sure if mine is the exact model but it's damn close.

What your seeing in the pics is actually dust plus some light scuffing. I imagine these shades are quite old so it's seen some wear (minor though).

I would take some plastic polish and a rag and very gently polish the emblem to make it smoother and thus blacker in order to better match the surrounding area.

Yep. The glasses on that look a bit off to me as well. The fact that it doesn't really look like Arnold Schwarzenegger is part of it as well. In addition, I don't really like the gun choice. I would have much preferred the Uzi carbine or even the AMT Hardballer long slide in stainless steel with laser sight instead. Hot Toys got it pretty much perfect. The PF also looks like an older Arnold, like 5-10 years older, if it's even him.

Naw...I'll leave it the way it is. Gives it that dingy quality....like the motel/apartment he was staying in. :lol

Well, those guns you mentioned are inaccurate to the police station shootout scene. The AR-18 assault rifle and SPAS-12 Shotgun were used in that particular scene so the PF's accurate.

Now, the likeness and glasses on the PF are another story....

Coming from someone who got it RIGHT, you should know. :) Phenomenal work, by the way. You would think its actually him standing there in your house, particularly if the room is a bit dim, or if it is seen at first glance in full light. I do think it needs eyebrows, though. The glasses are not completely opaque, and you can still faintly see his eyes and even his eyebrows behind them. I think it would make this just a bit better if you would at least paint some eyebrows on him. Have you tried putting some eyebrows on to compare with and without, even behind the Gargoyles? "They're not sunglasses. They're Gargoyles" was the company's slogan.:)

Hes not supposed to have eyebrows.

Re: Terminator 1 Arnold 1/1 bust remod **NEW PICS PAGE 6**

Hmm, it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I do remember him having eyebrows in at least part of the movie.
Those pictures are from early in the film. The terminator burns his hair short and his eyebrows off jumping through an explosion trying to get to sarah. he crashed his car causing damage to eye and arm. which leads to this scene, the eye surgery.

Then the police shootout scene, this is what joes bust/life size is replicating

Partial correction on the info ;)

The lens color used in the movie is Lunar Grey, that's correct. About the bridge, well, it's nearly impossible to find one with a screen accurate bridge at this point, screen used bridge was flat and textured, without the horizontal bars above and below the emblem, to be perfectly honest, I'm having hard time seeing the actual emblem on the glasses in the movie (but it's easy to see the emblem on the T1 movie poster, so I'll guess it should be there in the movie as well).
Another difference is the fact that Vintage Gargyoles have emblem AND logo on the arms, while newer models feature only emblem, no logo!

Also, newer models come usually in "Black Ice" and a bit rarer "Black Grey" lenses. While both work well as an alternative to Vintage Gargoyles for Arnold display, Black Ice have a slight bluish reflection, while Black Grey have more brownish, even very dark greenish reflection under some angles!

About the eyebrows, at this point in the movie, Arnold had them burnt off, just as some of his hair, and he lost his left eye! So to keep this build screen accurate, Joe shouldn't be adding any eyebrows (he already knows that :D).

Re: Terminator 1 Arnold 1/1 bust remod

Here's some new pics of my personal bust mounted on my mannequin. Still need to work on the right arm (its going to be arched up holding either a .45 or assault rifle).

I think this one came out way better than the one I did previous (especially the hair):

Yes, you are right about the Gargolyes. They had GARGOYLES written on the temples, but they had that written there at least through the 90's. I bought some new in the early 2000s that had it written.
The first Gargoyles came only in Lunar Grey, Bronze, Vermilion (rose), Blended Amber (yellow), and clear. They all had the same nose and temple pieces, which were textured matte on the nose, and flat black on the temples, with gold emblems, with GARGOYLES in white lettering.
Only later were the mirrored ones available, like silver or blue mirror, and the gold mirrored Gold Standard. They then made silver standard and bronze standard, with each "standard" model having temples and nose emblems plated in that metal. After this, they redesigned the nose bridges and offered the nose bridges and the temples in many colors, like white, yellow, blue, black, red, and magenta, for a few. They came out with more lens colors like Midnight Green, which looks almost like Lunar Grey, but greenish, Blueblocking, Black Ice,and others.
They also came out with Gargoyles 14% smaller and called them 85s and now the regular Gargoyles were called "classics" Pro Tec makes a lot more types of Gargoyles now, but when they first came out, they made only one type, like in The Terminator. I thought it was possibly the most conspicuous product placement in the history of movies when Arnold took the Gargoyles out of the box, then out of the emblem-ed red pouch and finally put them on with a close up on the glasses. Everyone including me saw what kind they were, and I was off to the store. :) I had Bronze, then silver mirror, then clear with black temples, then clear with white temples, then Gold Standard, then clear 85s with white temples and side shields, then Bronze with bronze temples, then Midnight Green, then Caribbean Blue mirror, then silver mirrored Vermilion. I have 7 pairs. I also have a Military version, in Bronze tint, which would make 8. I am a Gargoyles connoisseur, and have worn them just about every day for 27 years.

Thought I'd share my bust. Joe did an amazing job on this one! The paint job and hair are perfect! The sculpt is incredible in person. I mounted it on a torso for now. I still might make a full size figure out of him later, but right now I'm really liking it like this. Waiting on the accurate shirt, and I need to track down the more screen accurate Gargoyles (these are the slightly smaller model with the newer nose piece).
