If you look at some of the close ups, you can see part of the holes, so he didn't even cover them well. And since he cut so much of the cowl off, the cowl doesn't reach the tabs.

Comparing those shots to some of the neck moded figures here, you can see that he did cut off more of the cowl than most.

Its still would have been ok if he hadnt glued the tabs. The tabs are supposed to be closer like this and as you can see, the cape would have draped over the holes.
I remember a guy here somewhere in this thread, I think its pennyworth who glued the tabs wrong, he glued it on the cowl and so he had to cut it pretty much exactly like the one you posted Mags but after he put the tabs in the proper place, it looked sweet. But the thing is the glued error was on the cowl, not on the body like the one for sale.

If you look at how much of the chest is showing on the one I could have bought compared to how little is showing on yours you can see how much of the cowl had been cut off.

Here's a sample of Thrust's OC, and as you can see, the cowl was cut as much as the one for sale, Thrusts's might have been even cut shorter but since the tabs were placed properly, it would have been ok.
The reason the one for sale has more chest showing is because the face is pointing straight up. Usually the issue when cutting the cowl is that you're forced to have the looking down pose.
Oh, by the way, mine has less chest showing because cowl was not trimmed and has the looking down pose.

I honestly think he did a great job cutting the cowl. Trust me I want to cut mine also...just chicken ha ha.
But I wouldnt have bought the one for sale also, just saying the cowl was ok, its was the glued tabs that was the problem.

:lecture :rock

Actually, I haven't decided if I want Adam's head or one of the OC heads that will go up for sale when it's released. It's so hard to judge which will look better with the Takara...

As I get deeper into the TDK, the only head swap I'll do is the Bank Robber on a version 1 and that's if I don't get the Joker DX :lecture

The rabbit hole doesn't need to be that deep for me on DC products :)

Well, after a holiday out of town, I finally got to the surgery on my OC...:horror

I have to say, I'm very pleased. :yess::rock

After my hand stopped shaking :)lol) I cut away a little at a time, getting the feel for it. Then I did my best to shape it as close to the TDK OC costume cowl as I could referring to screen caps and photos. The pegs are now on with tape (and still need a bit of tweaking) but overall, I think the results speak for themselves.

I know this mod isn't for everyone, but with the damage I had, I didn't have that much of a choice. He can bend his head down a bit better now, however, extreme looking up poses are a no go. (Not that I really used those anyway.)

Thanks to Thrustmaster for his advice and input. :hi5:

Now onto stuffing that suit a bit...;)

Here's another sample Mags of a trimmed cowl.
as I mentioned, the for sale cowl looked weird cause he still had it looking straight up.
The issue with trimming the cowl is you're forced to have the looking down pose.

All this talk of cutting and trimming and gluing makes me want to circumsize my OC Batman.

Starting with the ears,

that video is terrifying. If anyone has a demon batman, and an OC batman..could you post pictures of the two of them together? I'd like to see what they added

Is the neck on yours shortened at all? I like the look of the cowl there.

Looking at this pic, it does seem like Thrustmaster's cowl is about right:

Orig Joker on a narrow TT with BRJ head will do the job. :lecture

This.

+ a DX Overcoat, and you're set. :)

Anybody got the picture of Adam's OC head handy? I wanna see it side-by-side with this pic:

Doubt it.

It was a member here that was selling it. I don't remember who, but if they are reading this, maybe they will PM you if he's still available. :)

Oh, from a fellow freak I see. Yeah, hopefully he gets to read this post and PM me as I would gladly buy a Batman OC for $265 haha! Btw, if you remember his username, let me know.

Thanks Maglor! :wink1:

Nope, just have it posed looking down. I think it looks great as it is.
I'm wondering if the cowl in DK is shorter than the cowl in BB, maybe that's why in some pics it looks shorter cause in this pic, it doesnt look as short as the DK pics.

like this one

pretty much looks the same as HT uncut.

I've been lookin' for this figure for a few days now and someone locally offered me a HT Batman Begins MISB for $370, do you think I should get the deal or just wait for someone who'll offer me a TDK Batman - Original Costume? As this (TDK version) is originally the version what I want cause it's the improve version of the Original Costume.

What you think guys?

:wave

that was a terrible move :horror:gah: So happy to salvage the situation.

The issue with trimming the cowl is you're forced to have the looking down pose.

Fortunately with this figure, he's at his best when looking downward. :)
