Re: Hot Toys – MIS12 -1/6th scale Bruce Lee Collectible Figure (In Casual Wear)

First ETD Scars,now casual clothes Bruce Lee.Hot Toys are doing something Enterbay never did,and if this pattern continues we might finally see the figure ive wanted the most every since i got my first EB Bruce Lee figure...BIG BOSS.I seriously can't understand why EB will bother making 3 GOD and no BIG BOSS.

So these are 140-150$ each,just checked ebay.Im only getting this Casual wear version,ill buy a 1/6 suit later if i need it.

ha ha yeah a Longstreet figure would be awesome.

Re: Hot Toys – MIS12 -1/6th scale Bruce Lee Collectible Figure (In Casual Wear)

Why is everyone saying this has the same sculpt as the other BL figure Hot Toys did? Enter the Dragon doesn't come with the smiling head -- unless I'm missing something and HT actually has three BL pieces coming out.

Oh, wow... HT should've just gone the DX route and gotten both outfits together in one package.
If they still wanted to go with two seperate Icon figures, just to add some variety, why not use the bearded sculpt for the Casual Wear version? Keep things different between the two. Otherwise it's kind of a sale-killer, I'd say. Might as well buy the other outfit seperately off feeBay or something.

The only plus side seems to be that these guys are relatively cheap compared to Enter the Dragon, but still...

What they're doing makes good business sense, even if it's a bit disappointing for some punters. Of course you can get a parted-out outfit on ebay, but I don't think you'd be able to get one for the same value as you would by getting the boxed figure given you get the extra body.

One figure at $140 give or take might seem cheap compared with the $200 for the ETD Bruce. But it's not relatively cheap if you're picking up both figures. To compare like with like, ie two bodies and two bodies, it looks like this:

2 x MIS = $240-$280
1 x ETD (exc) = $220

IMO the ETD exc is way better value. But yeh, if you're just after one Bruce, then it's cheaper to buy 1 MIS Bruce.

Why?
Just wondering. I am not of any opinion yet myslef thats why.
Maybe because of extra weapons?

Well my thinking is that with the DX exc., for $220 you get:

* 2 bodies
* 2 outfits

But with the MIS figures, for around $240-280 you get:

* 2 bodies
* 2 outfits

...that's even before considering all the other kit that comes loaded with the DX.

Oh yeah, with the DX you also get 2 different head sculpts, but the 2 MIS figures will have the same bleeding head. I love the sculpt, but two of them on my shelf looking exactly the same? One of them will definitely be wearing sunglasses just so it doesn't look like exactly the same figure. Which it is, really.

So what are the chances of a third icon bruce lee?

And you know what? I don't give a toss about value! I'm going to be buying every goddam Bruce figure throws at me 'cause I'm out of control! :gah:

Just like your Avatar.:wave:wink1::pfft:
I really hadn't factored in these Bruces into my spending this year. I'll be ok if HT bring out just one more Bruce, but otherwise I'm going to have to make some tough decisions on my pre-orders.

Still, I'm glad to be suckered into this HT line. If I'd discovered this hobby a few years earlier I would've been seduced by EBs line - much more money, much less awesomeness.

I'm glad I didn't buy the overpriced Enterbay figures, I just got 1 and it was enough, the First GOD Bruce Lee, it cost an arm and a leg.

HT bring it!

Re: Hot Toys – MIS12 -1/6th scale Bruce Lee Collectible Figure (In Casual Wear)

I wonder what Linda and Shannon Lee think about this new take on Bruce - I'd be interested to hear about any comments they make about these figures.

Re: Hot Toys – MIS12 -1/6th scale Bruce Lee Collectible Figure (In Casual Wear)

I wonder how much better HT figures will be say in 10 years?
Any thoughts?

Will this releases look like cheap plastic compared to them?

Good musings . . . to look how far Hot Toys has upped the ante ("The 1/6th Scale Renaissance") just in the past four years is nuckin' futs.

It's hard to imagine, Marcus, how these figs could be made any more realistic in terms of sculpt & paint.
I suppose the bodies will continue to evolve through design tweaks and improvements. I suppose the cloth tailoring could improve.
(Ask any Indy Jones fans if there's room for improvement and duck! :wink1:)

So you are saying improvements will be just marginal?

I think i agree with you, as everything that develops to a certain degree is really hard to make even better after some point. So there just marginal developments start.

Re: Hot Toys – MIS12 -1/6th scale Bruce Lee Collectible Figure (In Casual Wear)

What are the general thoughts as to price point on this figure ?

1 costume, no moving eyes, almost no accessories?

What does Hot Toys price figures like this at?

$150 ?
