I think they should leave it a mystery...you don't know what happens to him.

Much like Sr.

My Favorite line from KOTCS was " we lost dad"

He said that brody died, but that they "lost" Sr.

Considering that Like Indy, his Dad drank from the Grail, who's to say he's dead.

I can imagine them loosing track of Him, and Sr simply going "native" in some jungle somewhere, surrounded by women a 3rd his age.
sounds about Right for James bond, right? :lol

Further expanding on this idea, why not continue the series W/o Harrison as a physical actor?
i know that sounds odd, but bear with me.

concept:
Indy is missing. set it in the mid to late 70's, early 80's. and indy is gone. is he dead? who knows. he simply disappeared one day.

but his notes, and his journals are still around. our new hero ( no idea who this is, perhaps a favorite student, or use Shai, make a new character, whatever) Follows his notes looking for "Indy's Legacy" (the Mcguffan for the film/ films)
Following cryptic mesages Left on cave walls, inside temples, in is notes, etc. and always seeming to be one step behind the man in the Hat.

just a thought.

LOL isn't that what happened KOTCS? Indy and his son spent the first boring half of the film following cryptic messages/clues to lead them to a man. The fact that people are already making storylines to replace Indy shows how devoted you are to destorying a legend of a film...either do it with him or leave it. Harrison Ford is what made the film, without him its like going to see Tomb Raider, National Treasure or a Drakes Uncharted film, and if that ever happens then its going to be a massive flop. Hell you can't even call it Indiana Jones if Harrison aint in it.....

You could always call it 'Where's Jonesy?'

wow.. Sorry I shoved a thorny broomstick up the bum of your childhood memories there. Would you Like me to call you the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAmbulance?

Broad, sweeping, statements of stupidity aside, the truth of it is, Harrison will not be around forever. We either need to let the films be over (which People will never do. A flop or not, unless the movie made a boatload of cash, their wouldn't be any talk of making another. so you can safely assume there will be more. Possibly Even AFTER Harrison dies) Or find a way to make it work going forward.

Personally, i'd be fine with going the "bond" method ,and finding a new actor. I just don't know if they CAN find a suitable actor.

short version.

either find a way to pass the torch, or call it done.

i guess they could always use whoever it was that the DX figure was sculpted after to replace him. :wink

Some of you strike me as the type who'd dig up your own parents for one more hug.

Indy died in 1989 when the last movie was released. His legend will live forever as long as no one digs it up to piss on it again.

Uncle George can make his money from Star Wars cartoons and Harrison can keep banging Collista dry and spending his money on piercings. The last thing I need is the Jones name tarnished by some 6th straight to dvd bull____ starring Shia.

Given Fords age, it might not be as long as one might think before we see Indy die. Don't see how anyone could fill the shoes, and hold the whip quite the same.

Someone should make a gif of the scene from Last Crusade at the Nazi book burning rally, but replace all the books with KOTCS dvds.

No. Indy shouldn't be cornered or boxed into any scenario (like getting married). Leave it up to the audience's imagination as to what happened next. That's why I always thought it was dumb old man Jones lost his eye in the Young Indy Chronicles. Don't box him in.

Please don't turn this into an arguement you jackass...there was no need for commenting like that...was only expressing my opinions ! In cases like this you ignore people like you who just randomly come in and make fun of other people then type out their own comments...please in future think before you post !!!

Its people like you who put other people off commenting in the first place...

I think that anyone who DOESNT like KOTCS should douse themselves in gasoline, and jump through a ring of fire, into a vat of lemon juice with a broken glass bottom. So they die. All die. All KOTCS haters must die.

The over the top hatrid was too one sided in this thread. :lol
