Official "announcement" from Hot Toys!!

From this I sort of got the impression that HT wants to make a series from Smooth Criminal but I'm sure thats not the case. As a huge MJ fan, this news has definitley made my month:yess:

Now I'm hoping they do another Billie Jean MJ because not only is the previous one hard to come by, at least for me, but they could do a much better job (like improve the likeness & glove, add an armband and replace the yellow stripes on the pants with the classic solid white & sparkly stripes).

It'd be nice if they were able to do an MJ figure with the Billie Jean outfit made for the This Is It concerts where the socks, pant stripes, jacket, and glove light up. Maybe with fiber optics, or once the Philips lumalive technology they used on the actual outfit becomes available to the public, that might become a reality one day.

It'd be even nicer if HT decided to make MJ figures with him in some of the outfits he was going to wear for This Is It because they looked amazing. I can't wait to see what HT will do next with their MJ license.

I surely hope HT doesn't screw up the hat on this guy. Looking at how unflattering the Sarah Conner & Billie Jean MJ hats were, I hope they can improve on the sculpt so the hat will sit naturally/lay flat on MJ's head!

Strong magnet shoes + heavy base = lean

Another possibility, what I would guess, is they might just do a much a larger base rather than heavy one, something like a rectangle or short runway with the figure standing on a far end, leaning across the base. Or it could be a stand shaped in a particular way so as not to tip over, kind of like the V-shape stand Revoltech has. Instead of magnets, also, you might have him lean with some sort of stick connecting to his legs or through his feet. At worst, some sort of claw-like stand that extends out and holds the figure around the waist/torso, similar-looking to what Enterbay uses.

I don't think there'd be a cost-effective magnet capable of holding up such a figure, but maybe I'm wrong...

To put enough weight in a base so that it could lean without falling also seems unlikely. I would guess the weight of a package comes into play with the cost, with shipping it out, so to create a 1KG stand or something like that probably isn't a reasonable option.

I know Triad Toy figures have some strong ass magnets capable of leaning and staying on fridges. In fact, they're so strong, sometimes the glue can't hold the magnet in the foot and it falls out when you pull the figure off!

SWEEEEEEEEEEET!!!This is THE ultimate Jackson for me,hope it also comes with the Mic and Stand,White Overcoat. And if possibly, why not make a Magnet in the shoes so it can do the classic SC Lean.

After this,i will be satisfied with what i have...BAD,SC,Thriller,Billie Jean and possibly Beat It.Won't ask for more but ill take any MJ figure HT will make.
