Or would taking our pics in front of a solid-colored backdrop, white for example, be better? Might be easier to photoshop the background more consistantly for them. But I'm game for whatever we decide. I just want my VP parts to get here now
Nah, go with the box tray. Reason being it'll add consistency and everybody's SB will be relative to the size of the box, further distinguishing them. Plus, it'll be easier on 1kmasks. He won't have hella photoshopping to do, just align, trim and insert.
Steel Brigade is all about you. It was Hasbro's way of incorporating kids into the Joe line. The difference now is we have the ability to make them truly unique and not carbon copies of each other. Use your favorite parts and combine them until you're happy. That's what this is all about.
Just get it done by Monday with a pic of it in a G.I. Joe box tray!

Steel Brigade is all about you. It was Hasbro's way of incorporating kids into the Joe line. The difference now is we have the ability to make them truly unique and not carbon copies of each other. Use your favorite parts and combine them until you're happy. That's what this is all about.

yah, i still have my steel brigade figure from when i was little...but not it's paper work
. i have bought several over the years but it's not the same. that's why this project is so cool. i'm just waiting on my pm from mando to tell me it's ready and for me to pay.

Also Hasbro made 5 different variations to the v1 figure, so there's mucho leeway to start with. Not to mention creative liscense.
No one can tell you you're wrong here it's your figure! 
Orc's has yet to be deployed.
The sheen on the visor alone more than makes up for whatever lighting inconsistencies you may have had! Both images are great!
