If they don't care, then why all the effort into th unique things coming up in the SW line like IG-88, if they didn't explore stuff like that I might agree, but why waste all that on something you don't care about.

Because that way you don't have to constantly stumble over explanation after explanation of why Chewbacca, 3PO and R2 aren't made yet.

I'll give you HT, but the only thing DiD has is the headsculpts. While their figures "look" nice, the quality blows and that stale body is atrociously disproportionate.

Agreed. The DiD body is a sore thumb, but the accessories and much of the costuming (the few recent bits I've seen in hand anyway) have been a marked improvement. SS is still doing a solid job but nothing has blown me away or, aside from armored figs, looked to me like a much of a step up from previous efforts. Maybe (hopefully) SS has something cooking with a new muscled ToD Indy type of body and a female body that isn't a joke?

I dunno. As awesome as their boots look, I've yet to order a set that didn't require regluing the sole back on the leather or fixing a sling mount that snapped off of a rifle. Comparing what you get with the Joes (excluding Sideshow's lame riding boots and FF's chick turtleneck), even with the sculpt as nice as DiD's are now, SSC still spanks them in the overall figures.

As far as the muscle bodies go, looking at the buck, the Big Boy Buck and the Pros (all 3), I'm a bit scared to see what they'll consider acceptable.

I don't understand why so many people dumped this. Major character, great sculpt (even before in hand pics), limited exclusive. Pricey, but still. Too have so many available after selling out.

Gotta agree with you... this is one of my top 10 must-have SW figures. And honestly it looks like a total homerun

meh. I haven't had those issues or I don't care so much as I tweak and customize all my figs. And they're very nice but I just have not been as impressed by the Joe line as you.

Yeah, we can talk again when SS makes a working 1:6 metal umbrella or kicks their sick addiction to polystone. Just compare Toht's craptacular coat to Becker's for example.

Exceptions, not the rule. And I'm not sure I'd compare anything to the Indy line. I don't think Sideshow had their heart in it after ROTLA Indy.

I don't think even Raiders Indy was up to their par, after hobbits and Clone Obi-Wan, the Indy felt like a step backwards.

Here is one for size comparison. This is Palpatie straight out of the box, of course after a head swap. Darth Vader seems too tall compared to Palpatine or maybe it is Palpatine who is too short or maybe I don't know what I am talking about and their size is perfect.

Vader is notoriously too tall. By about an inch. So given that, they should look great together once you 'fix' Vader. Emp's on the Pro so he should be about Piett height, which is perfect.

If Emp is in the chair, maybe it won't matter.

Sizing Vader is another thing I gotta do. Just not sure if I should cut the thighs, swap bodies, do the mid-torso adjustment thing, or what?
