Really don't see why they had to use a brush for the lower jaw piece. Don't want to make this a SS vs. HT argument but it looks perfect on the HT 1/4 Bust. You didn't see this problem with the 1:2 Maquette and 1:1 bust either.

I have had a few issues with mine. Problem #1 was the upper forearm that connects to the bicept area is a lighter shade of red. Problem #2 is the right side of the chin has brush strokes on it, but isn't nearly as bad as others that I have seen on this forum. Problem #3 is the top of the helmet where it meets the faceplate on the left side; which it looks like to me, has extra glue on it that has been clear coated over it.
I could live with problems #1 & 2, but problem #3 just bugs me. I contacted SS on Friday and they will be getting back to me in 4 to 5 business days and see if I could get a replacement for my EX. I want a replacement, becuase I have the War Machine EX on Preorder. If I can't get a replacement I guess I will get a refund and cancel the War Machine too. I just don't see having one or the other in my collection. You need both. Other than that this is really a beautiful piece.

What the hell...why can SS never get an IM piece right? Its like every piece they put out is always followed by issues. I've been trying to get AND KEEP just ONE good IM piece from SS for the last 2 years. So far Ive sent back every single one of them. This will be my 4th attempt....

Exactly the same for me. Never found an acceptable Iron Man product from SS yet. Seems the Chinese factories just can't produce the smooth surfaces required for this kind of paint app.

I'm got this one on order but looking at the feedback here, I'm not optimistic. Getting one without the rough chin area looks very unlikely. Shame they can put out such a good sculpt and then ruin it with such shoddy paint.

I think that the reason behind they're being quite a number out there with bad paint jobs is because this got bumped up in production. There probably would have been a better overall turnout if this came out when it was originally scheduled, which was fourth quarter.

here is a picture of my maquette head. i will post some more pics and thoughts later. at first, when i unwrapped the tissue wrapping from the maquette, i thought i was going to return it. after waiting an hour and then taking it out of the box, i am thinking i can live with it as it looks so fine overall and the monir paint flaws can pass as battle damage. overall, not too bad - but SS should be aware that $500 for a maquete does not leave much room for error in paint flaws.

Here is a link in the Ask Sideshow thread that I started.

If you are unhappy with yours, please post pictures in that thread or at least post the problems.

So far, out of all the posts, we have seen three people that say they are 100% happy with theirs and one of those has issues with the chin. Guys, I am seeing several people say, "I am not really happy with the sloppy/uneven/handpainted chin, but I can live with it." For a $500 statue, this thing should be perfect and Sideshow should have to make good on this. Don't settle for mediocrity because this is unacceptable and Sideshow should know it.

I love Sideshow products and everyone I have met from there is super friendly. However, they need to make good on this.

The thing is with that bust which I have and love mind you is its cast plastic I believe. Makes it much easier to do than a hand painted piece. I don't know about anyone else but my HT Bust does have an issue of even when its turned off the lights inside still sort of are on. So its not without issues.

So far Josh is the only person I have seen that says he is 100% happy with his. I don't think I'm the only one here.

Sorry, I remembered you saying that there were paint issues on the chin also, but you were happy. I need to update the post earlier because Averone is happy also. Either way, the problem statues ore definitely overwhelming.
You can see a tiny bit of a problem area on the right side of the chin section but it really only surfaced during the picture taking. I don't see any problems at all where it's displayed in person.

It's alright. I just really think that if this didn't get bumped up to be released this month that the turnout for all the pieces would've been better. They would've had quite a bit of time to do some careful work if they were going according to the original release schedule which was later this year.

I think Jay and Matt should probably be added to the count as well. We're still a pretty small number though. :(

so,do you guys think that the flexpay orders wont have paint problems??

If SS catches this issue now and stopes anymore from coming out like this..then I think theirs hope for later batches to be corrected. However, if SS does nothing about this (which im counting on) then Im afraid they will all come like this. It will basically come down to, do you keep it or not. Its up to the individual....

Personally, if I see these issues with mine Im packing it right back up..sending it back for a refund and cancelling WM. I've done this enough times now to know the drill.
