I picked up the classic today. Not too shabby. Here's my review of it:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/iXR_OXazpZY&hl=en_US&fs=1?rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/iXR_OXazpZY&hl=en_US&fs=1?rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

it's not really missing paint on classic's side, it reprensce torn netting, it's not suppose to have paint there .
acually classic predator's sculpt is predator 1, he is so close looking like p1 in the movie, neca just used the p1 sculpt to be classic in this line.they left off bone necklace and trophey skulls, as classic predator didn't wear them in the movie.

2 weeks into owning Classic Predator, I still can't stop admiring the amazing sculpt. This figure has a place of prominence on my shelf posed exactly in his Toy Fair pose next to the NECA Aliens warrior.

That looks great, man.

Looks cool to me. Better than the stock paint-up. Nice job!

Looks fantastic!!! Man I can't wait to get these suckers!

Well whether or not you're much of a painter, It's very nice and kills the stock paint.

Thanks Guys! I'm glad you like it. Just two more pictures and I swear I'm done spamming them all over this thread. :lol

Again great pics IxSL4Y4xI. And feel free to spam all you wan't. Spam is good, I even had some for lunch.

I gotta say (for the 10 billionth time) looking at these pics really makes me hope HT goes back and correct the size of Berserker's and Falconer's head bios to all their bobble headed glory.

I have to disagree with you on that one. The figure has sculpted netting in several places, but it's not painted. If it was supposed to be torn, why is it sculpted?

.to look like classic did in the movie, with torn netting.
remember this is p1 figure sculpt ,pretending to be classic in predators.

because it's the P1 figure repackaged as the Classic. they're not gonna sculpt a whole new torso for a minor detail they can do with paint.

Yup, NECA is big on recycling parts. They're going to put out a few P1 figures in addition to PREDATORS Classic, for the type of product they are, they're fine with using the same mold for Classic and P1, even if the netting should be removed, not just missing paint, for the average consumer of their product, it's not the end of the world, they're $15-$20 toys, NECA's not worried about the over-analyzing crowds of the higher end market.

This is Predator 1, beatiful !!

but the netting needs an update on the 12 or 18 figure, really the Paint-Job on this part is bad , but Ok in this size this is normal i think, its simply too small, clean paint is impossible on a 7" figure IMO

Im sure on a bigger scale the netting will have a better Paint,

All the classics i have seen have that hole in the netting, i believe it looks like that in Predators.

I think the paintjob from what i have seen on the youtube videos is quite good actually.

Screw costs...an 18 inch Predator would be one of the greatest figures ever made. With clicking sounds and Billy's laugh, any time and over here. Come on now.

I personally hate sound-chips in figures. By the way it isn't always the case that the 18" ones look better. For example NECA's crow; the smaller one in the two-pack had a better paintjob and looked more detailed.

I think i will only collect the 7" ones even if a 18" comes out. A 12" however is a different mater i would definately buy that one.

YES, its time for the last important Sci-Fi/horror figure in 18" scale NECA, :gah:

NECA 7inch Pred 1

For me the Cinemaquette 24" is just P.e.r.f.e.c.t, but NECA can easily compete with this (likeness) when they bring a 18"

The CM Predator is a wonderful statue. It's CM's flagship piece.

But the NECA 7" nailed the 1987 Predator perfectly. From the mandibles to the dome, everything is as perfect as it can get. My biggest problems with the CM piece is the Predator 2 dome, the over-stretched mandibles (the resembled something from AVP) the eyes. IMO the CM's body, pose and armor are flawless.

If NECA made an 18"/22" Predator with an accurate removable bio mask, i would purchase that piece over the CM all day long. I don't care if it's made of polystone, vinyl or plastic, all I care about is what it look like on my shelf...and the NECA's likeness is off the charts.

When I look at the 1:1 SWS Bust i see the 1987 Predator, when i look at the NECA figure I see the 1987 Predator. I do not see the 1987 Predator when i look at the CM Pred statue.

:exactly:I am totally agree with you!!!

Neca has to give us a large scale predator!

when they say next year do they mean early next year? like january for the 87 P1 figure?

the SSC maquette is a cool piece, but the shoulder cannon just looks off to me.
tankman needs to teach a class about how to sculpt those things because most Predator collectibles don't get it right and NECA nailed it.
