Mattel said that Superman was being reworked and pushed back to Fall 2010 during their Toy Fair presentation.

If it comes out after the reveal of the HT Reeve Superman it will be DOA.

It will also probably be about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the HT version, so that may make it more appealing.

What I find annoying is the shape of the head -the hair needs slightly more volume, as it is the head is eggshaped.

Unless HT announces one first I'll pick this up... looks pretty decent and could probably look even better with a bit of work.

Certainly looks better than the original prototype they showed.

Is that extra hair and glasses I'm seeing? This the body still isn't the greatest, but it's a far sight better than the SkinnyMan Prototype.

I'm not really a fan of Superman, but they got the likeness pretty good for being Mattel, as well as the upper body buffness. (even if it is a bit exaggerated)

Kind of, and no.

The hair is the toupee from the upcoming Gene Hackman Lex Luthor figure. Not seeing the glasses, but the other accessory would be Luthor's Kryptonite necklace.

Check out the plaque in this pic...it clearly reads Lex Luthor (along with a re-release of Zod).
