argh! finally happened to me. mine is the very 1st Alien HT released. smooth dome, huge tail. i think it's the AVP. went to bend it's right knee and it just snapped. clean break right under the knee ball joint. can't believe it was that thin there.

is there a chance to buy a replacement leg from HT? anyway to get in touch w/ their customer service? guess i'll place a listing for a leg in Wanted section. w/ all the broken ones maybe someone has a good right leg lol.

Clear coat/ Dull coat is mostly for stiff and hard plastics. I used that stuff when I would customize G.I. Joe figures as the final protective "layer" over the regular paints.

well sent off a request to HT. guess i'll see if they'll let me buy a leg

Aint gonna happen, unless you bought it new and it was broken in the box.
post some pics of the break might be able to help with fixing it.Ive already fixed two aliens so far

thanks. yeah i know going thru HT is a long shot. i'll try and get some pics soon. camera's down. it's a clean break below the knee joint, at the shaft going to the lower leg/calf part.

dont own that one,I have the blue Aliens version.Do it have a rubber piece that slips over the join if so that good because you could replace it with something else i.e a piece of wire and some putty. Then just dont touch it to much.

yeah Dano, you were right. HT contacted me w/ a polite response of " sorry, but no" lol.
still, what with all the broken ones i wonder if i could find someone else w/ a broken one i can get the leg from.

Got a PM asking how I did the repairs, so here goes:

First off, you should get yourself 2 spare wrist joints.
I bought a pair of Hot Toys Wolf Predator wrist joints for my repairs off EBAY.

Second, get a pack of "BiC"'s pencils.

Third, cut the ends the broken figure's ball joints.

Fourth, cut the ends off the pencils (remove the erasers first) and glue them over the ends of the ball joints. Make sure you measure the pencil pieces so the joint doesn't end up being too long.

You can do the same thing for the arm or leg.

Here's a pic of the type of pencil I was talking about earlier.

Before you glue the new joint to the figure, make sure you test fit it first, and put the rubber sleeve back on.

Hope this helps.

Would the Brown Repaint have these problems? I seem to recall seeing some reviews and vids in which the owner's repaint version was in better shape.

Hi,
Hey does this demonstration give the same articulation as if it were brand new? Do you get the same movement out of this fix?

Hi. Hey does this demonstration give the same articulation the figure had as if it had never broken?

Holy frick, that's genius. But still, I dunno if I'll get this guy... Does anyone have a brown repainted version that's in good condish (paint-wise)?

Really, you're lucky then. Mine's like a rag doll. No joints are broken but the legs have no ability to hold a pose and the feet and right leg fall off if you lift the figure.

I'm careful with my figures, and was extra careful with this guy after hearing QC reports. Out of the box he was fine, but quickly he just went to ____.

Easily the most disappointing HT figure I own.

Yes I just got one today, one of the ankles is very loose because the socket has a small crack and as soon as I took it out of the box a piece of paint came off and stuck to the inner plastic packaging and now there is some paint missing from his chin.... Now I'm trying to find some brown/yellow poop coloured rubber paint to patch it up. I think it is because the some of the paint was not fully dried before it was packed.
