My wife can't know! :horror

...I just spent a big chunk of the money that was supposed to be for my DX02!

How long do I have to get ready for the BBTS shipment of the DX02?

[P.S. only 3 available from this seller now.]

The sculpt looks nice. But I have two concerns.

A) The wrist seems too thick, compared to the hand - this is likely because the leather clothing does not tighten around the wrist enough, making it seem too thick.

B) The body type seems all wrong. The breasts should be smaller and higher up, the neck should be much shorter, and the corset is far too thick. These all combine to make a thick-looking body, rather than the slim, slinky Catwoman the Michelle Pfeiffer was.

I think I prefer the black-suited Takara Catwoman, as far as body type and clothing fit goes. On the other hand, Pfeiffer's Catwoman is by far my favorite, and I've always wanted one to go with my Batman figures.

This'll be a hard choice - aside from the body type, it's fairly perfect. But that's a big "aside." I'll have to think about this one...

Also, does anyone know where the other 90 or so figures will be sold? Ebay listed less than 10 this morning, when they first went up...

Pfeiffer's Catwoman has always been my fav too. It's just not a choice for me. Now I just hope that HT doesn't make one far superior and make this obsolete!

Regarding the problems you mention, I have a feeling that pose/futzing will go a long way to sell the figure.

In this scale, you cannot have a form fitting leather outfit AND articulation. She would be immobile. Hot toys will not one up this. Look at Silk Spectre's costume and how loose it is. Its like Sally Jupiter wearing a Halloween Adventure costume.

You could remedy this with a differant material, except that people are allergic to latex, and other thinner elastic materials would be more prone to snap or tear over time. It also wouldn't have the realistic sheen of leather.

There isn't much room for Hot Toys to top this if they ever made one, maybe slightly better paint or sculpt, but the costuming would probably be about the same, possibly even lesser because of making it looser for the articulation. The real plus of HT making one would be availability.

But even if they do, I suspect we'll get original 89 Batman first. IF hot toys did Returns, it would probably be at least 2-3 years away. Maybe by then they'll have even newer bodies and techniques but in the mean time, this will fit in perfect with the available and existing old school Batman stuff and even looks like she can hold her own with TDK.

So are you saying that this one is likely to have reasonable articulation?

...and again, do we know what body she is on?

Agreed, if you can afford it and find it available somewhere you trust preordering, then buy it. Like I said, I don't see much room where HT could top this, so it's not like you'd be buying a subpar figure for lack of options.

It seems to have reasonable articulation yes, for a leather catsuit. She has her arms up in the pics, and her legs can spread apart a bit for wide stances which leads me to believe their will be enough room to bend the knees etc. I think they left it a bit loose in the stomach to allow the limbs to pull extra material from that area when stretching an arm out or leg. Then that loose area is covered by the corset. Seems likely.

As for the body, we don't really know, but one auction states it's body has over 30 points of articulation and is very similar to the "CY Girls" bodies.

I disagree. The Takara Catwoman has got both - form-fitting leather outfit AND articulation. No problems with the wrist, the neck, or the torso. The leather is a real tight fit, but articulation isn't hampered.

I'm not sure that futzing will solve the issues I mentioned above.

Its a very nice looking figure. Shame it won't be more widely available

^^^^^

Now that would be amazing! :rock

I like my applause penguin, but it's not really an action figure.

Customikey did an awesome one a few years back and sold it sometime after. Sold out of my price range, but it is a figure I still think about from time to time.

I'm interested in this, but w/no real way to get a Penguin I'm not sure if I just want her or not.

Nah man, this figure stands on its own! :lecture

However I have a little Returns corner that this will fit in nicely with.

And actually there is lots of Returns stuff still available that you could display her with.
