Got ya. Read the part about the USB not working missed the other. Wonder if they'll fix that? Saw the part about the game crashing as well. Hopefully the last update last night will keep it from doing that when I start playing eventually.

while im enjoying this game, i too miss the old splinter cell feel of the game. i hope in the future if we do get another splinter cell game it will be more like the ist game.

This fails to register.

Batman hates guns. The fast and furious gameplay of Conviction is totally not Batman's style.

A better comparison would've been The Punisher.

:D

I was talking about the gameplay of Arkham Asylum, not their morales. Its still sort of got the stealth element, but for the most part you can just tear ass through guys with no worries.

I didn't really follow the news since the first pics and previews came out, but clearly remember them praising their new concept where you would be able to basically pick up any object and use it as a weapon - e.g. running through a street café and picking up a chair mid-sprint to then smash over an enemy. I definately don't notice anything remotely similar in the final release though.

Yeah that was their concept from 3-4 years ago. In 2007 (I believe) Ubisoft scrapped everything and started from scratch in the story.

Every Thursday is Free Splinter Cell: Conviction DLC Day
Written Wednesday, April 14, 2010 by Richard Walker

In a remarkable and quite unexpected act of unprecedented generosity, Ubisoft has decided to issue free weekly DLC for Splinter Cell: Conviction every Thursday.

The planned content - as seen on the in-game dashboard - will include new weapons, outfits, skills and even maps for the game's Deniable Ops multiplayer.

Obviously, the raft of free stuff will presumably only run for so long, and it'd be crazy not to expect a more substantial piece of paid content to arrive at a later date.

For now though, bring on the free stuff! This week's free item is the MP7A1 Machine Pistol as elegantly illustrated below. Grab it from SCC's 'Extra Content' menu right now.

UK and Europe will have to wait until Friday when the game launches. Until then, why not pore over the definitive SCC review, right here?

Just played the first co-op mission!! :rock Awesome...its so cool when you take out a room of 5 dudes with the Execute function without them even knowing what happened.

The campaign is definitely NOT only five hours long.

I'm playing on Realistic difficulty and have spent at least 10 hours on it already, and I still have to finish the reservoir mission and then the final two missions. And I haven't really died all that much. It takes a long time to get through certain parts especially if you opt for going full-out stealth.

I've never played the older Splinter Cell games, so I can't comment on how different it is. What I got from the demo was a heavy Arkham Asylum gameplay vibe, and that's what compelled me to pre-order Conviction. The combat system has its hiccups but runs smooth for the most part. In fact, there are zero loading times while in the missions.

The story is highly compelling and much more realistic than Modern Warfare 2. Never knew Michael Ironside voiced Sam Fisher, but what a great aspect to the game!

Only downside is that apparently achievements are buggy. The biggest glitch is that many players are finishing the game on Realistic but not getting the corresponding achievement. Ubisoft is working on the problem, but it's making me want to slow down on the last few missions until a patch becomes available.

Glad you liked it man. Ironside has been the voice of Fisher since the beginning. He's like an official celebrity just because of that...in his interviews he always talks about how people walk up to him asking if he's Sam Fisher once they hear his voice.

I can't wait to see the next Splinter Cell game. I think they can do many great things with it. I'm hoping that Third Echelon gets recommissioned with Fisher as the head (Lambert's old job) and Archer (agent from the co-op) as the new Splinter Cell lead...the conversations between them alone will make the game awesome. Fisher could constantly talk to Archer like he's a rookie the way Price and Soap did in Modern Warfare.

Yeah i'm really liking it as well and just love the co-op on this game. :rock

^^^If you need some help with the Hunter missions on Realistic let me know!!! So far only one of my friends has the game and they can't play until the weekends.
