I cant say ive ever even stepped foot into the SW section. I just dont know enough to contribute there.

Yeah see thats why I dont bother, cause I like star wars stuff, but not like they like star wars stuff.

I think it looks awesome.
if I was still into modern horror, id be all over it ... :monkey1

...but I will agree that it doesnt go well with Jason a little over the top to be Jason.

I agree. The base is more Hellraiser than it is F13.

I don't really understand why SS chose to release this instead of a F13 III or IV Jason PF or statue. Conceptwise, tt has a very Mezco feel. Mez is Mez and SS is SS. It would be ludicrous to NOT make a F13 PF/statue based on this thing selling poorly. Maybe produce a PF/statue for F13 III or IV (or I, II, V for that matter), watch how well it does, then give us MORE items based on the first 5. Tired of decaying-bodybuilder-automaton Jason. I like him when he was actually alive and motivated to avenge his mother's death, not nearly as much when he was a re-animated machine motivated by a lightning bolt.

I remember a statement SS made about Marvel recently after a fan asked them about producing more Marvel movie items(UGH!). Their response was something akin to "the demand for comic related versus movie related items is disproportionate, so not as likely...."

Well...I wonder what the demand for F13th III/IV Jason PF versus ANY other F13th film (VI to X or FvJ...) or "stylized" version of him is......

:duh:duh:duh:duh:duh:duh:duh

Of course we are all great fans of SS here, but I really am feeling regarding horror, especially F13th, for quite a while now we haven't been getting what WE, the fans, want.

Sorry all, had to get that off my chest. It's just with how far SS has come over the years, I am really eager to see what they can do with Jason I-V (yes..I said V...for Jason AND Roy!)

if its not a license / $$$ based decision, then thats a great point.

While I do agree the Pt3 PF is WAY overdue, I dont knock them at all with a sidestep from the norm. Actually I commend SS mixing it up from time to time.
Letting the artist(s) / sculptor have their own style and interpretation of something is a good thing IMO.
Not allowing a sculptor to have any style of his own is somewhat comparable to telling a comic penciller to have no illustration style of his own.
Sometimes you like it sometimes you dont. Either way I commend them for taking the occasional shot at something different.

... as long as the Pt3 PF is still on the way....

I recall a quote from Sideshow along the lines of they don't care what their customer's and fans think, they will make whatever they want to and think is creative.

Its worked out so well with so many on hold lines.

Ordered. May or may not keep it, but based on the height it seems it will probably be in scale with my Fred in Your Head dio, so it should look good next to it.

I see your point and agree, but only after they've exhausted the subject matter in said format. I don't think there'd be as big a fuss if they'd done a majority of the other Jasons as polystone statues first. Problem is, the more you let slack into "creative license," the more likely artists are to hang themselves with said leash. Doesn't work for films, hasn't really worked for toys, and it's not working here either.

The other main issue, is that if sales on this tank, Sideshow sees that as "well, it cant possibly be our fantastic Amalgamation-Voorhees... oh well, Jason must not being popular with high-end collectors anymore." We've seen this with just about every other license that's faded.

This is much smaller than I thought it was going to be, you think they got the dimensions wrong between the two for Laura and Jason.

Laura 22"

Jason 16"

:dunno

I saw the very first "Jason" film when it came out but haven't seen any of those following it. I know nothing about the evolution of the character through the years or what form he currently uses. What I DO know is that this is an AWESOME statue that any horror/gore genre fan could warm to and I'm definitely keeping my order for the regular version! :D
