Thanks
Was thinking of going to Chicago and rip of part of the original pavement shown in the movie :chew ok maybe not
Going more material shopping today after work. Still thinking about the slate but that is really more if I have no other ideas, after all The Dark Knight is my all time favorite movie and a more industrial look would match everything better over the cave look ..... If only I were more artistic :( I would try to create the look of the new dungeon by recreating the worn off concrete flooring and walls

looks like you`ve done a fantastic job on your case Geil.was wondering where you get weldon at? as for as the industrial look I was thinking about tile board or some people call it dura rock.it could be varnished and look like the floor in the movie where the temporary batcave is at.just a thought

Sorry but I meant to thank everyone for their kind words and help

I basically followed this DIY. A source for Weldon in the US was mentioned as well
https://www.melevsreef.com/tools.html
I will be trying this other brand from kidder.ca (catalog page 34 I think) when I run out of Weldon as the source I got it from just gave me whatever they have left as they do not get it anymore :(.
www.kidder.ca is also where you can get hold on materials in smaller size and quantities but I assume it might get too expensive to ship anywhere outside Canada but I am sure you can google a local source. If anyone needs to know anything just message me. I may start a blog to log the research as well but have not gotton around to do so yet as that would probably require quite a bit of research

I am cooking up some more ideas and will post them as I get to them. I already started a thread for Terminator where I am brainstorming to create the display with the blueprint of a terminator to go with my JC :)

As for TDK I am playing with the idea of laser etching the bat logo onto black acrylic and mounting into the tumbler case. So when I manage to shoot a spotlight onto it hopefully it will reveal the logo in a batmanish manner :D. I am also thinking of laser etching an aluminum plate for the tumbler case :D

PS I will be looking for the tile boards tonight :)

BTW the LED strips are from Ikea and not the cheapest but lit up it really brightens up the tumbler similar to the batcave :D just need that fake concrete and hopefully the tile boards are exactly what I need

Sweet Geil, real sweet dude.

Thanks for taking the time to take the pics to share! It gives us a look at how others display their stuff, and offshoots ideas for others. :rock

Thanks, I was actually worried that I am hogging this thread too much with showing off my stuff :p I am still brainstorming and experimenting with some more ideas but will present it when I have something more of a concrete game plan.

I have my display case and base coming in the next couple weeks...the makers keep delaying. But wait till you see what I've come up with.....im betting its going to make people go WOOWWWWW......:D

I just have a question for all the folks who have the Tumbler. Are there really several glue marks on the Tumbler? I've heard this and am considering purchasing the Tumbler soon.

I had quite a few areas where There seemed to be glue residue in form of a white coating but in the end I was able to remove it all with just water q-tip and toothpicks

Depends on how sloppy they were when assembling yours.

Found no glue marks at all. Did find that the counsol in the cockpit had come loose in shipping and had to be reglued. Other than that, no problem.

Mine had some paint issues and my seller offered a 10% refund I could put toward my other orders with them so I'm all good.. :D

for $270 shipped I'm alright with it...

still don't have a spot for it though...:lol
You bastahd... I thought I was getting a good deal for $350 shipped.

Even with the cosmetic issues can't wait to get this piece; can't wait to replace the TYCO RC 1:6 Tumbler currently on my shelves. Maybe I should try to give it the prototype camo paintjob?

thanks... sad thing is its all camera, not me at all, I just got a lucky shot, I still got loads to learn :( It's the new Canon T1i and it was in auto non-flash mode. As for the TV it used to be huge at 52" but now it just looks small with the tumbler. I keep thinking something is out of balance and need a Batpod :)

Where were you a few weeks ago??
In all seriousness I am thinking of getting a 1/4" panel to make a base so I might be able to make another case but I have to calculate the usage to see. Cause last night Spiderman came by for a visit to check out my ride and without a base he was able to sneak in to get real close
