Ha, you guys are too stuck on weight! Its like you base the worth of the statue on how many hernias you get when moving your piece from one room to another.

"Ha, HULK gave me two inguinal hernias, a herniated disk and a ruptured spleen! Now THAT is a collectible!"

Maybe you should collect on Jupiter or something....

 So you don't feel that the weight of a high-dollar piece (specifically, one of this magnitude) is one of the factors that should be considered when judging its overall quality?

Buy a Rolex Datejust :chew

CM still got plenty of time to correct it. I doubt the child will gain more than 25lb unless they feed him rocks in hollow body to save cost in material. And you have a non-refundable $400.

If you have to spend 2K, then buy the ultimate statue. 10 little mediocre statues are not going to equate 1 big iconic statue :)

Holy stuck in the middle with $2,000 in my pocket.

What a freaking dilema I have found myself in.....

I want Superman but the cape S is missing, unknown if it will be corrected?
I want 25lb Child if not getting Superman but is he worth the asking price?
Or should I just take the $2,000 and instead purchase Venom and other goodies...lots of other goodies....

Weight? No not at all. I mean I dont want to feel like its going to fall apart when I touch it, but thats durability and quality not weight. If this were solid polystone it would be 3 foot tall and wiegh ~1/2 a full grown man. Or about 85-100 lbs. Shipping would be insane, and a lot of people couldndt even get it out of the box.

That's why I was laughing at the ppl saying free shipping, I expected this to weigh a ton.

A heavier thing only is higher quality if the greater weight means significantly greater durability. Generally, heavier means more sound and rugged construction, and hence higher quality, like on a Rolls Royces that are heavier, because everything is built 3 times more durable than it needs to be, so they can last long enough to have your great grandchildren drive it.

It would be best if these statues were made with a very durable core of a light material, covered in a somewhat thin shell of polystone, to provide the detail. Then these statues would have the highest detail, while at the same time be lightweight, and thus less likely to break apart because they got knocked over, and be relatively easy to transport, while keeping shipping costs down, because they would be lighter.

Standing approximately 40 inches high, the maquette is crafted of polystone, fiberglass, metal and other materials to best recreate the Iron Man armor as authentically as possible.

They forgot the air inside :rotfl

Nevertheless.. I am sure this thing meets all the
expectations for highest quality available!

CHAP CHAP CHAP

4 shockers for me.....

Iron Child's 25lb weight :horror,
Superman's 29" height :horror,
Superman's missing S on his cape :horror,
Scarlet Witch's Breast size :horror

Same dilemma for me....Iron Man Maquette or CM Superman! But if forced to choose, its Superman!

Have faith the PF IRON MAN will be made and will fit in with all your other PFs. Half Scale is cool but remember its the PFs that rule.

I understand that point, but I feel that weight is an aspect to consider because in my opinion does reflect durability (which you bring up.) To me, the more a piece weighs, the more durable it is. Not always, but more times than not. The more durable it is, the better the quality. Again, not always, but more times than not because there are other factors of quality to consider. Both of our opinions are valid because there's no definition to based it off of other than our own. I want to use a PF as an example, but I don't think it's fair to compare a 1:4 scale piece to 1:2 scale piece. However, I'm going to do it anyway. :lol

The Hulk PF is 1:4 scale and weighs roughly 50 lbs. This piece according to the website (assuming it to be true) is only 25 lbs and double the height. I think most (if not all) Hulk PF owners consider their PF to be of VERY high quality and one of the things that everyone harps on is its weight. So why can't SS make at least a 50 lb 1:2 IM Maquette? I'm not saying the piece needs to be 100 lbs, or 85 lbs, or even less. But $2000 for 25 lbs and I'm not supposed to question quality?

Obviously, shipping costs can't be that big of an issue because Sideshow produce pieces that weigh much, much more than this and are half of the size (ie Hulk, Abomination, etc.) You could argue that the electrical wiring of the 1:2 IM is a factor, but I don't think it's enough accommodate the loss in mass. I don't see what the reasoning can be other than to cut production costs. And again, more times than not (but not always,) equates to a lesser quality piece. So less materials=less weight=less durability=my point.
