The packaging was weird - the styro was wrapped with more tape than usual. The leg with the electronics had lots and lots of extra padding and wooden splints wired to it. I'd guess they had some problems with the electronics dislodging in the shipping tests. I thought I had problems at first, but there's a plastic tab in the battery case - have to remove that before the saber will light.

The tabard is chocolate brown rather than black. Which is supposedly what the real one looks like.

No wire in the cloak hood. I could get it to pose okay, but it would have been easier with wire.

So Dave, would you recommend it's worth buying?

If you like the character of Anakin it's definitely the best representation of him we've seen as a collectible. I'm not that into details, but the lack of wire in the hood is perplexing. There is wire in the hem, so you can pose that however you want.

The lips are pale, but it certainly beats the dark ones we got on the 12". The likenesses are excellent and there seems to be some subtle paint differences on the evil head besides just the eyes that make him look more evil. The costume is also excellent - I'll probably display without the cloak with the good head, but another one with the Sith head and the cloak on would make a good companion piece.

I actually think Anakin's lips should be pale. The darker lips are a big reason why the 1:6 Anakin figures were so disappointing.

OHHH MAN !! now I feel bad of canceling him.
He looks fantastic with the sith eyes. The EX is the only way to go with this PF. I would love to get one right now but I just have too much on my plate right now.
I will get him in the future for sure.
He looks just like the productions pics.

Which PFs exactly are you referring to? Off the top of my head, only Asajj and Obi-Wan have similar cloaks, and of those I know that Obi-wan doesn't have a wire. Not sure about Asajj. Not that I'm against having a wire or anything -- it's a good idea.
