I think the upfront goes to Kit though no? I mean, that’s if you place it thru him. I’m positive he’ll refund you in full if the worst was to happen. I don’t know about KG, but I’m sure they’ll do the same.
‘The worst’ is if the store goes bust.
If InArt crumble, I have no doubt that both would refund me or give store credit at the very least.

However, if KG or Kit were to go bust, I’d expect the inevitable outcome of losing all money I’d put down on pre-orders.
That’s why I’m not particularly comfortable just handing £1,300 over and keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, always a risk whether that be the store retailer or direct from original figure company.

Toys Wonderland is a store that seems to be on the brink of going under. They might be able to right the ship but seems like a lot a of customers are having difficulty getting their orders fulfilled or pulling their money out. I heard their business model is basically akin to a pyramid scheme since they are not an actual retail distributor with no actual on-hand inventory.

Oniri in France went out of business - I did a full pay for a 1:3 Robocop statue in 2021 through SpecFic. Todd said I would be able to get a full refund when I inquired last month but haven’t heard any news since.

Chronicle Collectibles was another statue/figure/prop company that disappeared - I bought Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters products direct from them. I got nearly $2,000 credited back because I paid through one those payment installment services using my credit card and was protected. But some people that used their debit card lost all their money.

From what I'm reading here, looks like I'll be able to pick up a parted out Arthur for a fairly low price in about 2 years. I can wait.

As far as the red suit... maybe JND, maybe HT... maybe a 3rd party will dagger everyone with a $200 bellbottomed figure with three heads (one of them being a bloody smile).

I can wait.

A lot can happen in 2 years..

I hadn’t considered that 😅😅

Seems Gundamit is one of the cheapest places to buy from so far? $1182 for the two pack and $1685 for the four shipped.

3P figure?

Of course, I’ve had a similar issue with a 3P figure bought from OSK and didn’t get anything out of that either so, perhaps positive outcomes are more dependant on the manufacturer than the middle man reseller.

Can you give me the order number? so i can check what happened

We do have a list for after-sales issues but there's always some cases we aren't able to solve

I'd like to know what figure it is and what happen to your case if possible

Definitely for the deluxe. It’s crazy that Spec is still the cheapest for the premium by $100 if you’re not in one of the states they charge tax in. Wonder how they ended up with the cheapest on that one.

just an fyi. i was asked to pay more for the shipping cost on top of the initial quote i was received which had shipping accounted for when my queen studios 1/3 statue from specfic. it was like 200-300~ extra somewhere like that for 2 big boxes. take that however you will.

inart deluxe joker was like 40-60usd however, but if im not mistaken the shipping price was listed TBD initially

They have a $50/$60 flat rate shipping for both atm if placed by March 1st. Pretty much lines up with the shipping cost for the ledger joker set. They said it’s applied whether you pay for the deposit or full price. They’re only worth going with if you’re in the states that they don’t charge tax in. Otherwise Gundamnit comes out cheaper.

Yeah this won’t weigh as much as statues with protective foam added on top of that weight, and will be shipped in a single box, akin to the InArt Ledger deluxe which was $45 flat.

Shipping costs from him aren’t comparable to other places overseas for 1:6 if you’re in the US. He’s charging how much it costs to ship from one part of the US to another, not the cost to ship from Asia, to him, to you. Like how Sideshow doesn’t charge us for how much shipping costs them for their shipments from HK but only the cost from Sideshows address to yours. Shipping price will go up from $50-60 after March 1st, by how much, we don’t know. Todd is getting his stock by air now instead of by ship, so that will play some part in the reflected costs. Will they be comparable to the $200+ HK stores charge? We’ll have to see.
