He is watching LOTR for the first time :yess:

Nice! My kids haven't watched LOTR either because I was waiting until they were old enough to see them on the big screen since a local Minneapolis theater has shown all three EE's every December for the past five years. Until this year COVID happened. :banghead :gah:

(First world COVID problems compared to what your family is experiencing of course.)

I now view LOTR trilogy as a replacement for The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur holiday viewing tradition.

I know people don't much care for the Hobbit films in these parts but holy crap is the PQ of those movies on 4K awesome. Probably the best looking movies I've ever seen at home.

We just finished the Hobbit EE trilogy.

I don’t own the Hobbit 4K only HD and 3D.

LOTR 4k is what we will be watching though.

My son said he wants to experience something big and with tons of monsters.

He didn’t watch the Hobbit trilogy though I wanted him to experience LOTR first.

He is in for a huge treat especially with my great ribs rub lol

Still in stock at many stores around me. All I can say, is it better be under the Christmas tree come 12/25.

Bill Hunt said the shortages is because of being only 1 bluray pressing factory in all of NA!

That is nuts!

He said add the pandemic and increased demand due to the at home stay orders and that factory is pumping out as fast as it can.

Eventually you’ll get one.

I have just been hit with my mid life crisis.

I am planning on selling my entire physical media collection only keeping my SW and LOTR discs that is it!

All of my 3D movies, bye bye!

All of my 4K MCU steelbooks with region free euro 3D discs, bye bye!

And when I say selling I mean $15 and below and that includes those packed MCU steelbooks!

Hell many movies will be $4.00 and $2.00!

Rush, JAWS you know where to find me once i’m covid free lol

Honestly my ratio of rewatching movies I've already seen is pretty much 99% SW/1% everything else so why not, lol.

Though with these new 4K LOTR/Hobbit discs that might change to 80% SW/19% LOTR/Hobbit/1% everything else.

Why'd I even buy all those 4K MCU Steelbooks, lol. Give me a couple Cap movies and I'm good.

My phone is non stop after I put out the word these discs are going quick lol

Yeah it is time Khev I have most on digital anyways

Do I really need to be using shelf space for The Hidden and Street Trash lol

SW/LOTR

DONE!

I already have all my movies packed nice and neat in brand new clean plastic bins ready to go.

I even cut my collectibles in half and most that will remain will be SW anyways.

I might love LOTR but I don?t own any or ever plan to own any LOTR collectibles.

Of course. Not a lot i need, but I'd be happy to give some 3D movies a good home.

Man, Covid has really been hard on you, you wouldn't have dreamed of going all digital 6 Months ago.

Just got my no cost copy of Friday the 13th 3D the other day.

That F13th sounds tempting lol

Not just covid but my 80” work horse (and only) 3D TV finally got the dreaded vertical screen line anomaly.

It was my final 3D TV.

That being said my wife just said that I am keeping my top 5 favorite 3D movies she doesn’t want to hear me complain for the rest of our lives that I got rid of them.

1. TFA
2. Avengers
3. JP
4. Dredd
5. CW

Where am I going to watch them I have no clue now.

Can you get a projector? They still make 3D projectors, many even have 4K If you've got the space for it, lots of people swear by them.

Oh man.. I have been there.. I have considered selling much of my collection.

In fact I have done several Purges through the years.

I still have around 1000 Blu Ray movies / TV shows and 4K discs.

I usually purge every 4 months.. I go through and say... Will I watch this more then 1 or 2 times before I die.. If I wont, then off it goes in the pile to be sold.

I thought about getting really serious and trying to keep the list to my top 100 or so.. but man I cant imagine getting rid of most the Marvel movies or Just keeping the first Matrix and selling the other two :lol

Some movies are just hard to part with.. I dont know if I will watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind more then 1 or two more time in my life.. But damn it I love that movie and sometimes its nice just knowing its there :lol

I love my Horror collection so I cant part with those. but admittedly it does not contain Street Trash :lol I have thought about buying the Hidden but know that I would maybe watch it once. Seen it too many times on VHS :lol

But you are inspiring me again... I just purged about 60 movies/TV shows a month ago.. Can I go through and do it again so soon??

I got some TV series to dispose of I think.

I have flirted with selling all but my JAWS collectibles also.

As long as I have my collection on a digital platform I am good.

I exclusively use VUDU love that service the interface blows all others away.

My biggest hurdle is repaying for digital copies it has been slow going but i’m almost there.

Make sure you look at the Disc to Digital on Vudu if you only need HDX.
At $2 each its a bargain.

Yup yup that is what I exactly use.

Many titles are not part of the program so I am happy when one pops up.

They have decent sales but can still lower their prices some

Commando Directors Cut is now available on VUDU btw :yess:
