Re: Hot Toys Joker Picture Thread

I think that this figure does need to be put in a great pose to really bring out the likeness. Just standing up straight he looks a little underwhelming. I think when displayed his head needs to be chin down to help make him look more sinister. Like the pics Krayt posted...

I think the same. The figure was made to be posed like the picture Krayt posted with the head a little down.

From that picture Hot toys sculpted the figure. If you look to the poses of the hand, is the same as the figure:

Nice pics icruise.

Would have posted this in the other thread but it's closed now.

Good news! I got a tracking number for The Joker (my first HT figure).

The Bad news is it will cost me a bit more. I had made some shipping arrangements with the place i'm getting it from (Studio Sunny) and last night i send them a mail asking if it was still ok and some other guy (i think) answered saying they couldnt do it. The guy had a kinda douschebag attitude in his reply. Sucks but it's still cheaper then it's costing now. Just not sure if i should give them a positive or neutral feedback? This is my first ebay purchase and i think it could have been better.

Give positive if it is your first buy on ebay.

I'm not sure I understand the situation. What was the arrangement that you made earlier, and why couldn't they do it?

My nabours company get's production samples shipped from HK every week and he said if i had anything coming from HK to let him know. I could have it shipped to his company using there UPS account. The item would be labeled as a sample with a value of $10 and i wouldnt have to pay customs. At first he said ok, then last night he (or someone else) said no way and gave me a tracking number. Not sure why he couldnt. I didnt get a real explenation. No matter, i'm getting the figure. Just don't think i'll deal with them again.

The seller is under no obligation to ship to another address other than the Paypal address the buyer is using. What the seller did wrong though was agree to something they were uncomfortable with doing in the end. They should of said no straight up, but this may be due to a language barrier...who knows

Anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this collar problem short of buying a custom shirt?

Yeah, I've bought and sold tons on ebay and if you are used to shipping standard ways ... meaning USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. ... anything different than that will eventually lead to problems on one end or the other. Could have been language/communication issues as well. Either way, I would suggest you leave positive feedback once you get your figure and you're happy with it. That's what you so-called 'contracted' to buy and they got it to you. If there's problems of some kind, work with the seller to see if you can work it out.

Just my two cents.

I've seen pix of the Joker on the toy-world forums, and the users Joker's there do not seem to have such a collar issue, but I dunno.

When I get mine I'll let you know, since I have a sewing machine and can sew a bit. If I have a problem with the collar on my Joker I will see if I can fix it and report back :)

We'll have to wait until other people get theirs in to see if it's a problem just with my figure (although I find that a little hard to believe). I took the tie completely off and tried to bring the two parts of the collar together with my fingers, and they just won't get any closer than what you see in the picture above. There isn't enough material there.

Still, it's not that big of a deal. It's a great looking figure.

Atta Girl... Wor-Gar, the Futzmeister, may have some suggestions as well, I summoned him (begged him) him to come to this thread for a looksee.

can you post links to the pics from Toy-World?

I don't think you guys will be disappointed. My pictures aren't the best. In person, with the one exception of the collar business, it looks just like all of the pictures we've been seeing -- even those of the prototype.

Re: Hot Toys Joker Picture Thread

The problem isn't the tie. You can tighten it (and I have), but the collar is already as tight as it will get around the neck and still looks loose.

If the collar is too small to close, there's not much you can do besides soak it and pull/stretch at it. When it dries it may be just a tad longer. Maybe just enough.

And like a genie...he's gone.

Great to see some actually informative shots for a change. I can tell now that the head is a bit better scale than I thought before. Still think the sculpted detail is too rich, but it looks much better. CANNOT wait to repaint one!
Looks good! :rock
