Whelp I've bit the bullet and decided I'm going to start my own custom/kitbash. Tired of waiting for the off chance some company comes along and delivers.

So still pretty early...and I'm waiting on parts from Hong Kong so that'll probably be awhile, but did get a chance to start putting some pieces together.

Still need to figure out and source a head sculpt yet too.

Here is one of my MacReady figures with the trimmed hair and my painted dog. The thing, no pun intended, to remember about the dog is that it was actually half wolf in real life. It did not look like your average husky.

Nice Jed! Yeah he was a Wolf-Alaskan Malamute. Not even a husky. But it was the closet one I could find without having to do too much work on him. Which version is yours?
Wow!

What an amazing likeness.

I love that display, spidercrab included and the Macready. Too much frost in the beard to my taste :wink1: specially when he does not have that amount on the jacket or pants, but nothing else to complain about. You put a lot of effort, time, love and ?money? on it. Thanks for sharing mate. I might end up trying some of your ideas. Right Now I am working on a smaller display with a fence too. Last "thing"s I did , add buttons to jacket and fur to the collar (got the idea from you). I also worked on a new flamethrower pistol and a new flame. This guy is the never ending story for me

Thanks man I appreciate the feedback. I was using this pic for reference on the frost. Still think I need to get the hair with a gray or frost look some how.the-thing-kr.jpg

Fantastic customs, guys! Great job!

I can't believe that a 1/6 company hasn't tackled a figure of this character. Definitely needs that head-crab as well.

Thought PCS was going to be the one to make that happen, but after they canceled both the AWIL and The Thing figures I knew I had to just make my own. **** it. [emoji38]

I'm blown away by this figure and its entire display. Got to be the best The Thing display I've ever seen. Everything is there. Outstanding, Rzeznikk. Just outstanding.
