If you cant tell for yourself, i cant really help you. I cant even get through this 3 minute clip its so cringe worthy. they swear they're doing something amazing and something thats groundbreaking thats never been done before. its painfully embarrassing. no one thinks like these crazed fanatics. thats all they're concerned with, they're not just trying to make a good show with good writing and interesting characters. who here can honestly say anyone on std is interesting or likable? in this video they're talking about how little girls can look up to tilly, lol what? i promise you no little girls are watching this show and they definitely arent looking up to tilly as a role model lmao.

Completely agree!

I also like your summation from your previous post: ”the new trek isnt bringing in the audience they were trying to attract while sacrificing its core.” Not only have they sacrificed the core, they have butchered every aspect of the dang thing!

It’s clear these folks cannot see the forest for the trees!

Finally got myself a McCoy from a fellow board member. Didn?t have to pay too insane of a price. Paid $300 for the regular version, which is more than it went for initially, but to have him in my collection a price I was willing to pay.
Congratulation! That's good news.

Well done! I managed to snag Bones right before he sold out. Not sure what the rest of your collection looks like but having my Kirk in his chair flanked by Spock and Bones on either side with Sulu and Scotty behind them is priceless. You can?t beat the beauty of that display.

thank you i appreciate that. unfortunately the sad truth currently is that klutzman is cemented in, no matter how bad they might want to get rid of him. its a very similar situation disney is having with KK, which we ALL know they want to get rid of her but clearly they cant, or she'd have been gone already. also, even more importantly, they have way too much money invested in garbage trek, the sets, the aesthetic, cast, crews, repurposers "cough" sorry i meant the writers, etc. theyre just way too deep now and theres no turning back, theyre already hemorrhaging money. they cant afford to scrap everything and reboot. so theyll make another season of std and then it will be done, puckard will get another season, maybe two, and maybe theyll do one new show as a last ditch effort but i doubt it will get greenlit. and then star trek will be dormant for who knows how long until someone ponies up the cash to give it another shot. we can only hope the woke politics in hollywood will be over by then, theyll start hiring writers who can actually ****ing write and actually watch the damn show theyre writing for before saying **** the past because theyre too lazy and hopefully they wont steal the whole concept for a bad show from a guy living in another country making a point and click adventure game on steam trying to support his sick parents and keep a roof over their heads. #justiceforanas

That's a mixed bag. I also enjoyed Space Above and Beyond, Killjoys, Dark Matter, Thunderbirds, Blake's 7, Odyssey 5, new and old BSG, it's hard to remember them all. I do struggle to work out where, how, and why the new Trek crosses a line for some people.

The Abrams movies annoy me because the core storytelling was dumbed down by sloppy science, sloppy Trek science, immature behaviour by professional adults, glorifying machismo, endorsing mass murder for revenge, trivialising female involvement, and pretending that Kirk's shambolic performance justified promotion just because the end result was favorable. Despite all those issues, I can still enjoy it for what it is: a dumb, fun bubble gum movie that was popular with general audiences.

I did try to fact check some of claims about about the new stuff but the only information I could find in multiple sources was that Discovery and Picard have been extremely successful. The one site claiming Discovery was an unpopular failure was marked with a fact checking warning that it was misleading.

I suspect I'm going to enjoy SNW a bit more than the others but they are still going to ignore the bounds of TOS technology and that is still going to annoy me but I think as long as the show doesn't lose respect for the franchise like Abrams, it should be within tolerance for me.

Obviously, release dates for 1/6 are always unreliable. Has the pandemic significantly affected 1/6 generally? I have Scotty and Sulu. The only tentative announcement via sellers is that they are going to honour the second run. If that's the case, presumably that means there will be no new Trek figures for this year?

I do realise that some people believe that there will be no more ever but I want to plan ahead my custom projects.

I always new I wanted a movie display. Nanjin's 40th Anniversary figures and Captain's chair would have been Nirvana for me. Now that I've seen it, I have to get one made. That, plus the gantry and science station behind would be perfection.

I just got off of a live chat on facebook with QMX's social media person (didn't catch his name) and asked point blank if 2nd wave of SCOTTY and SULU would ever be released and the answer was "YES, we will be releasing the 2nd wave of Scotty and Sulu". I didn't ask when but according to one of the places I have a pre-order for Sulu at they say very late 2020 or 2021. And they are a direct QMX distributer.

At least it's good to know that they intend to honor the 2nd wave even though it seems like a longer wait.

He also acknowledged that they need to do a better job with finishing lines for collectors.

Hmm so Uhura might be on the cards late 2021? I shall continue to hope.

I would not count on it my friend... if it is this hard to get QMX to release Trek figures that have already been made and many of us already have on our shelves I cannot see them ever putting in the effort to complete development on a new Trek figure. I think the line died with Sulu?s release.

Agreed. Considering Kit was the guy with the connections in China, and now he’s out and back here in the States, I don’t see how they’re going to reestablish connections with people who have all moved on.

Yep...it is a real shame...two...just two more figures and we could have had the entire original series crew! This is just license holder malpractice on QMX?s part.

:lol

Did he by any chance offer you a cheap bridge to buy?

From what Nanjin told me, they couldn't finish Mals for 2 years until Nanjin stepped in and helped them. Nanjin also mentioned, the company's knowledge was worse than before he joined the company because the company was heading to the same failing route as the phased out 1/6 companies. If all the molds are gone, I have really strong doubt they can or willing to reinvest everything without any production leverage.

It doesn't bode well if they learned nothing from their collaboration.
