I doubt this forum represents even 1% of those that buy Hot Toys. Most buyers never post on any forum, those that do will likely use Facebook and other platforms. Any time Hot Toys reveal a figure via their Facebook site their comments section is flooded with requests for a Pfeiffer Catwoman. I've not seen another figure requested as frequently as that one.

Still the most iconic and beloved on screen version of Catwoman. I can't believe anyone thinks it wouldn't sell.

It is, but think about what you?d likely pay for three figures individually. It would probably come to at least that, if not more.

I'm not sure that most people want all three. The Ghostbusters analogy isn't really a good one because they're actually a team, so most people will buy them all. I can see myself wanting Batman and that's it. Maybe Catwoman...if it includes two head sculpts, and that's a big maybe.

Well, we were talking about collectors, not every random person who ever bought a cosbaby from HT. In your case, yes, the pool is much larger.

Facebook works just like this site. The front page says -- Most users ever online was 8,677 -- but this site is really driven by the same 100+ guys most of the time. I imagine when people clamor on FB for Catwoman, its the same few guys that always generate the buzz for BR -- might be 40-80 posts but its likely mostly the same 12-20 guys.

I just think people who collect generally want more than one character. The problem is that some of these lines have fanbases who will buy figures, but overall the lines don’t sell in the same quantity as figures from other more popular lines. I think it could work releasing bigger sets of figures, but it would be nice to somehow gauge interest beforehand.

That's one of the great challenges in any business. Imagine if you could accurately predict what would sell and how much you would make in advance.

The problem with the 3-pack is that Batman always sells well... he's a one-off for most people. Joe-schmo wants a Batman on his desk at the office so he seems 'fun'.

Catwoman really appeals only to collectors and to horny boys who collect dolls. Strangely, thats a larger group than just collectors who want the full representation for the film -- with all three villains.

Almost no one would buy Penguin as a one-off.

What could work I guess is a re-release of Returns Batman with the Hard wing like you mentioned.
And Catwoman and Penguin as a two-pack.

By the way, not saying never say never.
Although I said its a pass for me, I could also change my mind after seeing in hand pics. lol
Its just at the moment, I've been extremely picky on what to collect.

Nope. And it seems nobody else cares either anymore. Burton era has been relegated to Cosbaby.

Yea which really sucks. Like many ppl, Keaton bats was my first Batman and I still enjoy them thoroughly to this day. Seeing all the Casbaby stuff really makes me sad at would could/could have been a fantastic line of figures.

My two most wanted Hot Toys right here.

To me, the best strategy would be to release Catwoman and Penguin as single releases, and then do a deluxe armory set with Bruce, the Armory, and Alfred (although I'd cheat and have that be from 89 Batman). If done like the Bale set, you'd have your Batman for those that missed him (and let's be honest, if you passed on Batman 89 and Batman Returns, you're not a stickler for Batman to match your Catwoman and Penguin precisely - any old Burton Bats will do). You also get suckers like me to buy him again. It'd be tough to drop a grand in one fell swoop, but those would easily be my favorite Hot Toys of all time if done properly.

The more hype around a Batman, any Batman, can only increase the likelihood these eventually might get done. I was never a big fan of Ben Affleck and I didn't think his version was very inspiring when he should have been a standout. If the current brand was strong enough, HT would be scrambling to make anything remotely related to him, including his rogues gallery past or present. As a testament to how big of a hit the Nolan era was, take note that it was precisely toward the tail end of that we had our explosion of the Burton Era figures + Batmobile. To this day we're still getting re-releases and upgrades to quarter scale of the Nolan stuff. I just hope that whatever this new take is, it's not an embarrassment!

Either way, I think we'll probably see a Wiig Cheetah long before a Pfeiffer Catwoman. Strange days lol...
