I looked back at the last two newsletters, and there is no mention of the change in materials... which newsletter was it mentioned in?

To be honest I have no idea, I read it on here somewhere that it was not going to be real wood.
Sorry I dont know exactly :dunno

Maybe it's me, but that was in the description for the last 2 weeks already

It may have been, but I personally rarely go back to read a description of a product I preordered weeks ago and is already sold out... but maybe that is just me...

Yes, but that is from the product page itself, not from a newsletter... so, we were never officially informed of the change... not cool.
Very true, I guess cos I heard people mention it, I must have assumed it was from the Newsletter because I mostly just glance across them anyway. My bad
Lesson learned.

I know, that's why I mentioned that it was a sneaky web page update. Hopefully they planned to tell people about this at some point, but who knows?

I kind of get the impression that prop replicas aren't really their strong suit, so it's entirely possible that they didn't realize the cost or difficulty involved in making the handle wood. But that doesn't excuse making a change without informing people. Maybe they're coming at it more from the point of view of a statue or figure making company, where the materials that are used are secondary to how they look. But when you're making a prop replica, the materials used are a pretty huge deal.

What other replica weapons have they made? I don't count the original Samaritan as a replica because it was made of polystone -- it's really a 1:1 statue of the prop.

I'd be ^^^^ing pissed!! Mainly cause I did Flex-Pay and I won't cancell because of the fee. Or I might and sue for my fee for false advertising! OK, no I won't.

They will let you cancel flexpay if they have changed something and you
do not want it anymore. The will also waive cancellation fees and refund you
what you have already paid.
At least that is what they told me regarding another item I have on Flex pay.

I am still getting it but would have preferred wood!:lol

:rotfl Isn't that what R&D is all about!
But I'm pretty sure that there is plenty of machinery in China that can produce wooden grips for pistols.

But yea the cost likely increased or whatever excuse you want to use.
I emailed them.

yeah they definitely exist. Theyre set to sizes of real guns that have runs of hundreds of thousands and cover the extreme high cost of the machinery,
Im giving you real world ordeals.

... but Im sure youre thinking SS is trying to screw you one way or another or whatever excuse you want to use.... :gun

wonder what time today's "How to screw over our bread and butter clientel" meeting at Sideshow is today?? ... :monkey1
