After some delivery address issues (I think when Sideshow refreshed their site, all my new orders went to old address), finally got Mark 50 opened up last night.

It doesnt help that the pack is the same cost as a standard figure. It reeks of exploitation of the fan base really, then the items dont light up, or match the weatherimg on the mk 50?

Right I agree that the price is high. I’m just talking strictly about going from prototype to production. Nothing really changed.

You could also argue that these fantastical nano items are new every time and are only briefly used in the fight. Why would they be weathered ?

Don't get me wrong if I were getting them I'd probably prefer them weathered. I'm just saying from a logic point of view.

The disappointment wouldn't be nearly as pointed if the set was more reasonably priced. For accessories that are all plastic, non-diecast, has limited weathering, and no light up features to cost the same as a full HT figure makes the shortcoming for the set that more unforgivable and noticeable. Nothing in Justin's review justified the $250 price HT is asking for. $130-$150 for the set seems much more reasonable to me.

Well, I am glad Justin got it to review... easily made me cancel my order for it.

And if I am being honest, I received the Mark 50 from Sideshow yesterday, and I am really underwhelmed.
Those hip gaps are horrible compared to previous diecast IM and the whole figure feels "cheaper" in comparison
to any of the diecast armors that I own (Mark 4, 5, 6, 43, 46, 47, 46 Concept).

Hopefully the Mark 7 will be back up to par. I may pass on ordering the Mark 85 at this point, as well.

I mean... you've gotta know on some level, before you even hit the pre-order button, that buying an assortment of plastic pieces for ~$250 is a mistake and will only lead to disappointment.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out Hot Toys marked that thing up way more than they needed to to turn a profit on them.

I'm especially curious on why it would feel cheaper than the 43. The leg gaps are definitely bad, a bit more so than most of the other ones, but I feel like the rest of the figure is pretty good.

Yeah even though it looks amazing in some pics, I'm still not totally sold on this figure for some reason, and just have a hard time seeing it really being worth the sky-high price it's going for.

I know. I tweek positions for all my figures until I feel they hit the perfect pose. Spider-man has been a little frustrating, especially with that costume. Eventually I will find a good pose for him.

Well, starting point is that he is definitely lighter than all the rest of the diecast figures.
I would say they dropped the overall diecast content by 10-20%.

But besides that... the articulation is really a weak point, things feel very fraglie when moving
them around. None of my other armors feel that way in hand. Legs don't pull down like they should,
the "shifting" armor pieces for the arms feel like they could break right off.

The feet are awful. Almost ZERO ankle pivot, unless you get you fingernail under the foot cover plate
and force it to move left to right.

The leg gap seems worse to me in-hand than in photos. I absolutely hate how that part looks, just being honest.
I am seriously considering just keeping the Tony head sculpt and selling off the figure and accessories.

Just ate the NRD to cancel the Accessory Pack, as I don't think I will be able to re-sell it and break even.
All-in-all, I purchased most of the IW line, and this is the dud for me. I even broke down and bought an
Iron Spider when I said I wouldn't, and I am happier with him that this figure.

Sorry, just giving my two cents on it. It is 100% the first diecast Iron Man that I regret buying.
Brought the cost down some with my reward points, but even with that, not really happy with him.

And with the almost immediate re-issue, they absolutely made a bunch of these compared to previous armors.

I really hope that the Mark 7 turns out better than this. As long as the quality is like the Mark 4 and 6, I will be happy.

Yeah, I should have known better. Jumped on the hype train with that one.
At least I was able to cancel it after seeing the review. If Justin is underwhelmed, I will be... but worse, lol.

Truth be told, Some of the paint and materials on those accessories seem very Hasbro-ish to me.
Justin saying that the blue to white areas looked like stickers pretty much sealed that opinion.

True, but I also think that price comes with an expectation that the accessories will be comparable to the figure in terms of quality. I knew they wouldn't be diecast, but I was expecting the red paint to match that of the figure and I wasn't expecting them to use stickers instead of paint or translucent blue plastic on some of the pieces.

I'm not canceling just yet, but I am leaning that way...

Hmm, I'm very on the fence for this figure so seeing Dino _Ranger_White's comments on the figure feeling cheaper doesn't help. The video reviews I've seen comment on how much lighter the Mark L feels in comparison to the rest of the Diecast line...seems like HT cheaped out on Diecast material. Although this shouldn't come as a shock since it seems like HT did rush the production on the Mark L...so quality was definitely lost.



EDIT: I see Dino _Ranger_White also mentions the lighter weight of the figure. I replied to the initial comment before reading anymore of the additional comments, but yeah...this just confirms HR cut corners with the Mark L.

Yeah, I really believe that they took shortcuts to rush this guy out. The accessory set, even more so.
Funny thing is, with this being more expensive than the last couple diecast armors, you think it would have
been better, not lower quality.

Someone PM'd me about clarifying the thigh gap on this, I think it is because of the deep shape of the inner thigh plate
and how it is cut that makes it look worse when you see it in-hand. Almost like it fitting together with the rest of the leg
was an afterthought.

I also think it is weird how the knee bends at a slight angle instead of straight, guess that was the way the shape
of the armor was designed, but it is still odd. I thought I broke it somehow the first time I used the knee articulation, lol.

Now I never actually used the word enabler...but it was implied! Your intervention effort is appreciated, but I'm going to stay the course for now - at least until I see a few more in hand reviews.
