Josh-a-trons Art Thread

Okay well it's been a bit since I've done anything serious but a friend contacted me about a Halloween art show and I thought it would be a great way for me to do some larger more serious stuff again.

Not to mention get away from the computer, digital bleh.

So here's a sketch that I'm probably going to turn into a painting. Always loved the Universal classics.



Oh and I'll be posting some of my newer works that I've got going in this thread...I'll try to keep it PG.

Start of another sketch...Looks like I might make it a Universal Halloween exhibition.

Finished the sketch this morning


Now I'm kinda torn for what to do for the 3rd piece for the display. I'm doing portraits because they usually sell fairly well and you can put a decent amount of detail in them without it taking forever to paint them.

Since I'm doing an all Universal display I thought about doing either Dracula or The Creature from the Black Lagoon ( a personal favorite of mine).

Feel free to chime in, I'll probably start sketching again later tonight or tomorrow.

Funny thing happened while I was painting these. People caught wind that I was doing a classic Universal Horror set of paintings and now two of these aren't available for the art show as originally intended.

So to cover this I'm going to do two more, Wolfman and Dracula for the show. At least it'll be a somewhat complete set.

thanks! I'm using acrylics currently. I don't have the room for all the things I'd need to do oils right now.

In the mean time I did a little fix on the Dracula Sketch

Really struggled with the shadows on this one so i changed it to make it more passable. Much easier to draw than to paint but it is what it is.

Hope someone enjoys it.

Next up...

Okay this is my last painting for a couple of weeks and also the last one for the Art show next weekend. Thanks to everyone for looking at these and also for the guys who left me comments.

I'll be doing some quick sketches but that's about it art wise for a least a little while.

Now I'm gonna get some sleep, thanks again guys!
