The flash doesn't help, but the sculpt looks pretty good. The suit looks good too - I was surprised that Bruce wore a vest in the movie and they've replicated that pretty well.

I don't really see buying this though with the HT stuff coming. There's bound to be some HT Bruce coming.

I really think they prefer to keep a consistency across their lines... its bad for people just wanting a few pieces in their collection. But I'm sure the Medicom collectors like that the new figures fit in with ones old stylistically.

Batman5

I agree the intensity in the eyes are great but over all I have to agree the win goes to HT. Also, is the face to full? That could be what is throwing it off.

The overall proportions are off, face looks too full, hair seems to tight to the head making his head seem too short from the eyes up, really just a bad sculpt, regardless of likeness.

Seems like a pretty accurate description of Bale himself. Really he just has a bad head and Medicom did alright capturing that.

I'd say mediocre job. Medi did so-so, HT pretty good, but I haven't seen any yet that beat Andy B.'s Bale.

Medicom, need to get a standard taller body for the world market. You have to remember a lot of their customer vocus in the Japanese & asian market we the scale of their figure is correct for their market. but they do need to get a new scaled body & better paint apps their sculpting is usually very good!

When the Death Note RAH figures were released overseas, you needed a redemption form from one to purchase the Ryuk VCD. Sideshow later got the VCD to sell seperately in the US. I guess it's along those lines but with a random, Willy Wonka twist.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taken from http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MED10272&mode=retail :
This is a ‘ticketed item’ in Japan – it can only be purchased if the purchaser of a Batman RAH figure in Japan receives a ticket inside the Batman RAH package. This ticket allows them to then purchase the Bruce Wayne figure at retail. It appears that not all Batman figures include the ticket needed to purchase Bruce Wayne, but we have secured a source for this item.

Taking into consideration that Medicom's sculpts are usually stylized and aren't supposed to be photo-realistic interpretations of the character (?), their Bruce isn't half bad, in line with their previous efforts. I just wanted to throw that in before someone says "Teh Hot toys bruce head is better."

It's not the sculpt that bothers me, but the body proportions - he's a bit too thin. At least the shoes are nice...but hardly enough for me to shell out cash for a Bruce figure.

vader

True. But I can't see myself spending that much on this one piece (would much rather spend it on a Hot Toys figure). There are better Bale HS custom-made by some of the folks here.

Quick question: how come in general 1/6 scale clothing sucks!? Especially with suits (like here with Wayne) companies always give suit shirts HUGE 70's style collars. Just curious.

It's a decent sculpt.. looks like Bale. I just don't like the hair sculpt.

NewGoblin23

good to hear! i can't wait to get this guy in the mail.. Is the suit big? what kinds of bodies do you think it can fit?

no the suit is sort of fit to the figure(well the upper parts at least, the pants and shoesare pretty big though), but from what I can tell, he's on the same body as the Medi TDK Batman, so I assume that maybe Slim TT will do? I've never had just a spare HT body so I don't know for sure :dunno

intothevoid

So you're just guessing it won't fit and that the value therefore should be $40 :P

Gipetto0812
10-08-2010, 10:11 AM
the whole thing about the medicom bodies I think is a matter of opinion, which I understand Ed that since you're TDK bat's snapped in half, you hold a bit of resentment towards the medi bodies, but for me, as much as I've messed with the 2 medi figs I have, they have still yet to break (knock on wood)...idk, IMO I would've payed the $90-$100 that is goes for about now, b/c to me it's a really nice figure.

void, when I get a chance to buy and put it on a new body, i'll post some pics, but that won't be for a long while as this project isn't at the top of my to do list.

but, I would just put a new neck on it and leave it on the medi body. I mean there aren't very many dynamic poses you can put this guy in. If it were clark kent, that's a different story. but Bruce wayne, I mean pretty much all you got is a straight up hands in pockets pose :dunno so I see no reason for a "better" body

EdwardNashton1
10-08-2010, 10:18 AM
The Medi neck does not just come off like that. It's screwed on.

And it's not just my Medi Bats. It's my Medi Joker body. The body is ready to come apart in places. It was so ____tily assembled, and the plastic is cheap as hell.

Medi body are anorexic little shrimp bodies. They suck.

I'm not biased because my Medi Batman snapped in half, thanks.

Gipetto0812
10-08-2010, 10:26 AM
I know about the neck man, I do have the figure :lol but good looking out

but I'm just saying man, you've had some bad luck with your medi figures where as I on the other hand have yet to have any breakage, so that's why I don't see any need for a body swap. BW looks fine in the suit IMO. not too skinny at all. but that's my opinion. you have your own and that's cool man. when you get the figure, you can do what you want with it :peace

but me, I'm just going to see about making him a new neck or buying a new neck and modding it to for the medi body. that's all the problem I see in regards to the body. the head can easily be repainted.

just outta curiosity though, why did you buy the medi joker when HT's versions are clearly better? did you just want the full line of TDK jokers? I was thinking about buying it, repainting it and giving it some new hair then sell the head off and just keep the shoes and socks for my joker

No, That was the Medicom body futzed. To be honest it looks even better on a TT.

This is a Normal TT with shaved down shoulders to simulate a Narrow (also known as too broke to actually buy a narrow, but gets the job done)

The TT looks better because the Medicom body is so skinny it has some areas in need of filling out. The Narrow body will do it perfectly.

Don't know if my pictures do it justice, but in person it looks 10x better on a TT.

It's worth buying for the outfit if you're not planning to splash on Kato's version. Needs a body change to a TT though to fill out the suit and to make the HT head usable with it

Ven posted some pics of his on a TT - looked great, can't find the pics though!

Thanks void!!!

So its worth it just for the clothes, then I can change the body and head. Will the shoes fit onto the TT body? do hands come with the TT body as well?

Shoes should fit but I would check with Ven to confirm. TT body comes with hands and feet, and neck adapters heads with necks and also neckless heads (for the HT Begins Bruce head).

besides the jacket looks really tooo tight and out of shape there:lol

only thing that set is good for are the shoes I think.

No Ven has his on a standard TT that has the chest and shoulders sanded down

The suit is actually a really nice one. Better than many 1/6 suits that I've had. The suit fits the Medicom body really well, the Jacket is all that's a bit big. The shoes and whole socks are nice as well.

I wouldn't under estimate this figure unless you've had it in hand. It makes for a great Bruce Wayne figure right out of the box.

right on the money. Regular TT with sanded down chest and shoulders.

as i explained before though, shirt will not fit what so ever. jacket and vest is a pretty good fit if you sand the shoulders and vest.. its no KATO work.. but it'll suffice.

shoes defintely fit.

I've got the Medicom Wayne suit on the black slim truetype that came with my first (peeling paint) DX02 Batman.
Everything fits perfectly, plus the DX02's legs are extended so it's not as short as the standard slim TT.
I'll Post some pics tonight.

I agree this is one of the best 1/6 mass produced suits ive seen, along with the toys2 ones (why the hell don't they make more of those?!)

Thanks for the little review - I do think he'll look quite good on a TT with the new Wayne head.

I could really use a pair of the shoes he comes with... but not gonna buy the figure just for the shoes lol

They were only sold at toys2 far as I
Know

Katos will be $500-600 I'm guessing. Not for the faint of heart lol. I guess taking a $80 plunge for shoes in that context doesn't sound so crazy after all :thud:

hmmm, maybe I'll look on eBay see if there are any. If I find any I'll send you a link and maybe you can tell me if it looks legit. Im sure there is a lot of junk on eBay.

$500-600 just a bit much for me. But his work is amazing. Like i've said before I never bought a suit for myself that costs that much :)

Yeah no worries hit me up if you want to verify :1-1:

Yeah I totally understand that people consider those prices way too much - I know i'm crazy. :slap

Just picked up one of these for a custom personal figure (from a novel I'm writing)

Decided that no matter how amazing it is, I just couldn't justfiy $600+ for the Kato suit.

Am very very happy with how good the suit on this Medicom figure is. Not a fan of Medicom at all but its easily the best suit I've personally seen on a 1/6 figure by a wide margin ...definitely surpasses the mark for my needs.

...the Bruce Wayne head is actually pretty good as well right out of the box, and would be quite impressive with a repaint, but don't care about that personally...

will do, when the TT-narrow shoulder arrives....

but if you can afford Kato's masterpiece, not sure why'd you even care about :rotfl

So the HT TT narrow shoulder body arrived ...and the suit doesn't fit it at all!

Glad I had the day to myself and nobody walked in because I had to skin the poor guy with a sharp knife ....hilariously, the red handle of the knife was rubbing off on the figure body as I was doing it, so he looked like he was covered in blood :D

Eventually I'd shaved it down enough (especially around the chest) that I managed to get the vest and jacket on.

There was no way that shirt was fitting though. Had to use a spare I had.

I bit the bullet and bought it over priced. I also just purchased a TTM21 and starting to worry about it's chest size. Is it too big for the medicom shirt? How would the TTM22 slim work out? I'm not too keen on the idea of having to mod my TTs if possible. Any one who has this suit please let me know.
