Just got my PAX in today, i also picked up AULI frame as well.
Has anyone scene the AULI. its just the frame and tracks.. and its 200 for the big boy pax

I thought so too, saves a big chuck of change for new glass.
I showed the guy my collection and what i wanted the pax for, he thought it was cool and found the AULI frames and helped abit loading. But it was during the day at Vaughan ikea is it was prettty much dead.

$200 for the door frame without glass panels? They told me $275.. If they're $200 and they work with a single acrylic sheet I may go pick them up. Let us know if they work for you.

just thought i'd post a couple of quick pics of my plans to hang the custom made doors on the front of the Pax units. I've had a few people ask me as to what i meant by my earlier post so here's a couple quick pics to give a rough idea.
just so you guys know, I've actually used the second method to hang my flat panel TVs in my house, which range from 40" up to 52" i believe. so that method certainly can hold the wieght if needed.

Ikea said the new Lyngdal style door frames will be available in April.
A question for you gagilya...Did you have to use the plastic risers that came with the Komplement LED stips on the top shelf in order to install the sliding doors?
Also did you just drill holes in the backboard for the wires?

Thank god, I was beginning to think I was SOL without any doors to buy with the PAX. Having them out in April gives me plenty of time to save after March statue madness.

Also gagilya...Please tell me how you wired your Komplement lights! I can't figure out how to do it because the wires are so short.
hmm not sure i understand your questions, but it should be a simple hookup.
1) Dont use risers that come with the komplement, just screw the metal holder directly onto the edge of the shelf/top panel, then snap the led strip into it. If it doesnt snap, use the screwdriver to pray the metal holder loose a little then it will snap in easily.
2) For the wire all i did was drill a small hole in the back panel, then used a wireholder to run it to the back of the pax. You can see in the photos, i did a pretty crappy job, you should drill the hole at top left corner instead of in the middle like mine.
3) You need additional wires in the back to link all of the lights together into 1 outlet plug. Did you read the led section in my original post? it tells you all the parts needed.
Those are the best leds, they light up the entire shelf evenly without any glare or messy wires.

Too bad there's not an Ikea around TN. I love the cabinets, but it's like over $200 to ship just one here!

To clarify, my question is where did you put the power supplies for the lights? I would put them on top of the Pax, but the wires for the bottom shelf Komplements are too short..are yours mounted on the back of the backboard somehow? If so you had to leave a gap in between the Pax and the wall, right?
Is there any way you could snap a photo of the back of your cabinet?

ahhh now i get it, lol there is no way for me to move the pax anymore without causing physical injury to myself and my statues.
But to answer your question, i just taped them all to the back of the pax. Used a roll of packing tape and taped all the boxes and wires to the back. Imagine how a mummy looks and you get the idea. Not pretty but gets the job done

I ordered the shelf holders that you posted from amazon. Did you install them with the L shaped piece below the pin or above? I could not get the shelf to fit with the shelf holding lip below the pin. It seems like the PAX shelf is fitted to the inside of the PAX and will not allow for the extra metal of the shelf holders. How did you do it?

P.S. I spent all day moving my statues out of the PAX, adjusting the shelf levels, and drilling holes for the wires. Let me just say it is a LOT of work to build these displays, as it is trial and error. I will be building two more very soon, but I probably won't add the acrylic doors until I buy a house. It's going to be a nightmare moving these cabinets as it is. They're too tall too move and will have to be disassembled due to the height of the cabinets...they cannot be tipped over or they hit the ceiling. I hope that these PAX can be disassembled and reassembled because they seem to be the ONLY economical solution for displaying large statues that I have found.

Hey Gagaliya...where did you get the wire holder you used for your led wires? I haven't been able to find one that thin.

I couldn't find those either...but I bought these today at Fry's. Not nearly as thin as Gagaliya's, but they're black and once I figure out how I'm going to secure them up along the top corner they'll barely be noticeable. The problem with the other types of wire hiders that I saw is that they were white or beige, and they stand out too much. These are also 3/8" which just happened to be the same size holes I drilled for the wires on the backboard, so they run right into the hole. They actually look kind of cool to me, they look good with the Alien IMO.

definitely below the pin, to install the holders, twist them all the way into the hole like a screw and they will go in pretty easily, if you try to push it in it wont work.
The shelf is a tight fit, i usually put 3 holder on 1 side, and 2 holder on the other side(leaving the middle hole blank). Put the shelf in semi vertical and put it down into it 3 holder side first with a little bit force, gently pound on it with your fist, so it fits nice and secure.
First one was tough, then it was easy after figuring out how to do it.
they are from ikea, you can paint over it to hide it better but i didnt bother.
