Great job. If you look at the throne though you notice what looks like streaks of waterstains down the sides of the throne. I think it would really enhance your steps if you added the same colorations to your steps.

Thats pretty sweet, both of you! The Hasbro Gamorrean Guard looks pretty good with the Sideshow stuff. Bad Moon, has your Gamorrean gone through any kind of repaint treatment?

Great steps guys. I agree with Pixletwin, a little distressing of the steps would look great. Add a few chips too. Maybe you could use some light brown shoe polish and smear it in a few crevises.

I'm loving your display in general, jedibear. I went for a closer match to Jabba's actual wall colors from the film, but I actually think you trump the Bloated One on interior decoration taste. ;D

My 2 cents.

While doing some research for my own steps I've figured out the problem concerning the 3 steps/ 4 steps question.

In the film there were 4 steps, but here's where the problem lies. Jabba's throne in the film is not resting on the floor like the SSC throne. His throne is off the ground approximately 1 step. So in actuality, having 3 steps with the SSC throne is accurate, but to be perfect you should have one more step and raise the throne by one step.

If I remember correctly, Jabbas throne actually had the ability to slide in to the wall behind him and only slid out to see the Rancor feeding.

How this works with his back rest I'm not quite sure.

I've been waiting for Jabba to arrive, so I can measure the throne in person. I've been dying to make steps out of poly for this setup, but I want to make sure everything fits. I think everyone has done an amazing job so far though, you guys have set the bar pretty high!

Both BadMoon and I made our steps out of heavy florist's styrofoam covered with a faux-finish latex interior paint. I used toothpicks to attach mine together.

I plan on using the pink insulation polyfoam you can get at the hardware store. You can buy gigantic sheets of it, and cut it to suit your needs. With Shropt's suggestion, I even want to make the bit of flooring behind the throne, maybe space for the BBQ pit thing. Once I have the sheets cut, I plan on using spackle to smooth out the spaces between the steps, and then cover them with glue and sand, then paint to match. Once Jabba arrives, I'll be able to start measuring everything for this project.

"topped with a fixative" Jedibear what does that mean? Sorry guys I'm not very artistic. Is this some sort of coating? If so did you coat your steps with this first and then rub the pastels in?

Oh and to my next question. Could I take the steps I have made and pour plaster over them? This would seal the crack essentialy make 2 solid parts right? However I don't know JACK about plaster. Any ideas? I of course would repaint them.
