If he doesn't, he's not Superman. He's Supermeh.

Your Superman should wear a K S on his chest for "Kinda Superman." :lol

Lois - "What does the KS stand for?"

KS - "It's not a KS. Where I'm from it means..."

Lois - "HOPE?"

KS - Nope, it means "Hopefully."

Lois - "Hopefully?"

KS- "Hopefully I don't destroy the earth!" \_(ツ)_/

Having a “perfect” Superman doesn’t make for good or interesting storytelling though. People want to see relatable characters. It’s what makes them interesting. Supermans problem is he’s already overpowered as it is, then you throw in the aspect of him being Mr. Magoo then you have the most uninteresting and unrelatable hero of all time. That’s just putting yourself in a corner if you’re a writer. In that clip there’s no excitement, suspense, or any real sense of danger at all, it plays out exactly how you’d expect it too.

The perfect Superman/Clark Kent isn't actually flawless or unrelatable.

Lol . He?s a freaking alien from outer space who is made to be the perfect man. He?s not supposed to be relatable. Hardly any DC character is made to be relatable. They are modeled after the Greek gods.

TBH I don't expect much from it. The reviews are already bad. Which is kinda sad!

Yeah, who's seen it? Or have the critics just already made up their minds (as usual)?

Also, people tend to forget Reeve Superman had his negativity and self-doubt too, and turned his back on humanity for a time.

Superman is definitely meant to be a relatable character. Most of them are to some degree. They?re written to be relatable through their actions and morals, not their Powers and abilities. :lol

In some instances your right but for the most part he isn?t . The DC characters were made to be characters that were like Greek gods. People viewed Superman as a character who could do no wrong. The reason why people always give Superman a hard time is cause he?s perfect and can do anything . So Snyder and others tried to ground him to make him a relatable character. I feel as tho Snyder failed in that regard but there is a reason why he made Superman the way he was. So audiences would relate to the character more. The character has always been seen as hard to adapt in video games and movies for some reason

Even the comics tried to make him more grounded by stripping him of some of his powers in the '80s. Remember when he needed an oxygen mask to fly through space for extended periods?

There's a lot of Superman that is relatable and most of that was touched on by Snyder. Adopted after being orphaned, trying to find his place in the world. Wanting to help people because he knows he can make a difference. Disappointed that he's treated badly by certain groups even though he just wants the best for people and questions whether it's all worth it. Most of those are about self doubt and exclusion though so it's easy to see why Snyder made him a bit mopey. The unrelatable stuff is about his physicality so all of his weakness are emotional.

Of course Zack wanted the audience to relate to Superman more. That’s the whole point. That goes back to what I was saying before though, he has always had relatable qualities. He’s just a hard character to develop because he’s so overpowered, then when you add in the big blue boy-scout personality it loses its luster fast. Zack did a great job making him a grounded character which made him feel more “real” so to speak.
