I made a prediction a few pages ago.

I said it will be a tad better than SM1 (Raimi trilogy) I still hold by that. I think it will take things in a new/better direction, and a lot of people will love it. The few that can't let go will hate it.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Everything i know so far, through consultations, interviews, trailers etc. leads me to believe this.

We shall see!

I think the new spidey flick will be just fine. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me cautious on that I should feel differently. I don't think it can be worse than the new ghost rider movie.

All i know is that in the sequel, i hope we get some Spider-MAN. Sick of the High School crap.

Umm... He was in highschool for maybe the first quarter of the first movie in the first trilogy... This reboot felt the need to start it over again and it doesn't look like he's graduating anytime during the runtime.

I personally feel Spider-Man works better as a younger character. He's more immature as Batman so the age thing works for me. High school or college kid. I couldn't imagine a 40 year old Spider-Man to be honest.

I could.

I would love to see him in his first real job(Bugle or whatever) after college or whatever trying to pay rent, balance a family, work, superhero, friend etc. in a movie or two from now. (kinda like where SM2 was going)

That's what i always liked from the comics. Seen him start as a kid and deal with it, and then progress into a man and what lessons he's learned along the way. That is what SM is to me.

Didnt someone say that they werent gonna rush through Parkers life this time so he would most likely still be in High School in the sequel? I think it was a producer or something :dunno

Well it is Spider-Man not Spider-Boy. Focussing on Peter as a man in his 20's and 30's would be more interesting than as a teenager. I think the other three films did a decent timeline, I don't think they need to focus on his teenage years for more than one film.

I don't really have a problem with a reboot, just as long as they give us some new material and it doesn't feel like we are rewatching Spiderman with different actors.

I would like to say TDKR but, The Hobbit will have more eye candy and will be more of a grand production.

:goodpost:

I hate how they skipped over High-School / College in the Raimi films, Peter is a kid who chose to become a man sooner than he shoud have, him being a teen superhero is what gave him him uniqueness & him as an adult is good because it built on him as a teen hero.

Raimi's film's also skipped over his scientific genius, Peter was always a genius distracted by his Spider-Man duties to excel, in this film he builds his webshooters and does science stuff, in the raimi films he was in a college for one lesson and didn't do squat

Obviously "Movie:the movie" will be the big hit of 2012.
