I'm personally surprised this priced in cheaper than expected. Every time I see "legendary scale" attached to the statue name it typically comes with a nearly $2k price tag. I figured it would come in roughly half, but this one seems very reasonable given pricing on statues these days in the premium formats. I just might bite this time.

I stand corrected. Very surprised to see this priced at $700.

SS pricing model continues to make no sense as this Yoda Legendary Scale is the same price as the latest Deadpool PF. :dunno

I think I'm sold on this one, especially given the fairly reasonable price tag. I thought I was done buying statues after I got the IS Vader, but they just keep sucking me back in lol...

Size notwithstanding, I actually like this one a lot better than the SS life-size version. The likeness is better and the base is more interesting.

Totally agree. Lifesize looks off, glossy.

Also, kudos to Sideshow for being sensible to space and Master fits in a Detolf.

I’m in, I think I’m using my rewards points on this one. After points it should cost me about 30.00.

First a 3-in-1 Jedi Luke figure is announced as being cheaper than a bare bones pilot Luke and now this. SSC might finally be coming to their senses with regard to SW pricing.

I found the math!

Yoda legendary 700usd - 18 inch
Yoda hot toys 199usd - 5.11 inch

Conclusion is that Legendary is 71.61% bigger than HT but only 71.57% more expensive. So in theory cheaper than a hot toy, now you can buy lol

That's exactly my argument with my wife when she asked me to justify getting this piece why not getting Hot Toys Yoda. [emoji23]

Well, I stand corrected. I'm happy to say my original prediction was inaccurate :yess
I think I might be in for this one. With my reward points, this will be around $500 for me.
& I completely agree, this one looks loads better than their life size one.

sideshow does read the forums, before the price was released everyone was complaining about the lsf ripoff prices, they realized if they priced this like the droids at 1-2k people will just have a revolt and give up. So they give us the 700. For all of you saying this is cheap, and in pf category price wise, realize this is a smaller piece than most pf and also simpler than most pf - it has nothing special construction wise like glass eyes or very detailed base.

So they just priced like an expensive pf (ie deadpool) but for an average pf complexity wise. So you are not getting a deal...just regular price. LSF marketing means nothing, we all know it doesn't translate to extra quality or craftsmanship, just size. So not sure why everyone thinks LSF at 700 automatically means a good deal.

now can we stop talking about the price but the actual statue - all the star war experts, is this piece accurate? how does it compare to the 1:1 custom puppets. Deciding if i should order or not.

I'm in. I'll preorder it on Thursday as well.

Haven't preordered anything since Hot Toys Anakin.

I'm not a Yoda expert but I'm very interested on him. Those seeking the most accurate Yoda go and grab yourself a lifesize cyberman Yoda. Yoda Builders facebook group is a great source of information. I dont own one, maybe one day.

Now what I think about this Yoda. I feel a bit bad in judging this work of art not being a specialist. It looks definitely great, brings serenity, peace we would expect on Master. It's EP5 and they made a very good research. The size is great to display and as mentioned it allows to fit in a Detolf so very good for most collectors. The mixed media looks good, beautiful clothes, great paint job, very screen accurate to my eyes. The eyes, hands and feet look very good too. I absolutely love the hair. The base is simple, but what else to expect from Dagobah? The base cannot steal attention from him, so no more animals, worms, etc.

Now what I'm still not sure about.... I wish it had a simpler face, there are more "aging marks" than visible on Episode 5 (and he may potentially look older than when he died). These marks seem deeper and more abundant than necessary. I talk about the cheeks and laterals to the eyes. But the face changes a lot depending on the angle and lights, on some pictures the marks look fine, sometimes too much.

Verdict: Although not sure about the marks until seeing one in person I think it can actually work in favor of the piece. From a distance the marks will add more complexity and detail to the face and It can work much better than a "flat" face. This interpretation of Master is the best released by a vendor to-date in my opinion and potentially for many years to come. It is way better than SS lifesize. I believe it is a great opportunity overall, a must have to Yoda fans. Even knowing Iron Studios will release a 1/4 Yoda sometime in the next months I will PO the legendary because the presence will be stunning. Congrats to SS for the beautiful release and respect for Yoda.

Edit: after sideshow live I believe the face to be good. The marks looked ok at the studio lights.

it looks great and the price is much less than most of us expected...especially considering they had the balls to charge $2.5k for the lifesize and $2k for the 1:2 r2.

no interest in a pf sized yoda for $700 personally.
