Oh man ...no kidding ...good times!

Yes, for those that didn't live them I feel bad. It was truly the end of a century with awesome music, excellent animated cartoons and before all this tech and bitterness had engulfed us like it has ever since. Not saying they were perfect, but I loved the '90s and think it was truly the end of some true creative greatness.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Hey guys!

I am the concept artist for this WW piece, collaborating with XM Studios. Thank you for the kind words and appreciations!
I also grew up in the 90's and I love that era.

Especially before the internet, so when you visit your favorite toy store, you get suprised by so many new toys (in blisters), and you want all of them (but got no money since still in school, lol), good old times as a collector!!

Thank you for your amazing work on this - I absolutely can't wait to add her to my collection!

First, awesome work on the WW!

Second, you are so right. I used to love going to stores be it comic shops, toy stores like FAO Swartz, KB Toys, The WB store, TRU, etc. and seeing the new books, toys, statues. I was just out of HS and going to college back then. So though still poor, I did at least have some money as I worked while going to school. I had all the Spiderman Animated, Batman Animated figures plus the re-release of Star Wars figures. It was indeed a wondrous time! The internet was there if you had time to burn for dial up, but only was a supplement to information. I used to go to bookstores and leaf through or buy the latest toy mags and see what was coming out! I even remember having friends over so we could look at new photos of figures online, or meet up so we could compare out latest hulls. So much different than today for sure.

And yes. It was the golden age of collecting for me personally. Where going to toy stores are literally treasure hunting. I am from Indonesia and here, there are not many toy stores, and we only have one store that imported US comics. It's funny and such miracle that now I am working for Marvel comics. I feel so very blessed. What you said brings so many memories to me. Spiderman animated, Batman Animated, the Toybiz X-Men (there are SO MANY of them, so I can never do the "collect them all" tagline, LOL). And because I have to save money to buy just one, I used to put the one figure I want in the back of the rack, put it in the back lines of the pegs, so people won't find it and I can buy it later when I have the money hahahaha.

Also, when I was in elementary school in 91-96, there was no internet here in my place, so again, what you mentioned happened to me a lot, where to see one or two particular figure, we have to go to a person's place because he is the ONLY one who has it in the area. I met a lot of new friends through that process, hahahaha.

The good old times. I guess we're lucky that we got the chance to experience it.
And now I am designing statues, it's like living the dream. :)

You guys are a bunch of youngsters.... I remember being 7 when the very first Star Wars Action figures came out, I remember going to Gemco / K-Mart and seeing the new action figures hanging on the wall by the check out stand, my mom would buy me one at a time... Then going to the mall which was like 50 mins away which had a real toy store will all the figures (rare ones you didn't see at K-Mart)… and begging my mom to advance me my allowance.... My uncle built this like 30'x30' sandbox in the backyard, I lost many of figures in that sandbox :) Ah the good ol' days where you only worry was picking which action figure you wanted to buy

Thank you!

You're recalling hiding figures cracked me up, as I used to put them in the Barbie aisle, in the very back LOL. As a poor college student I could only buy so many at a time. I would go back weeks later and be relieved to find them there. Or heart broken when the store redid the display and my hidden figure was found by the staff!

I recall when they did the Star Wars 3 packs on the re-releases in the mid '90s, and if one of my buddies got them at a comic shop or in the store we would call one another and like you said, rush over to their house to marvel at the find!

Awesome you got to live your dream. I am an Illustrator as well, have been in the profession for over 25 years now. I wanted to do comics but gravitated towards technical drawings instead. No complaints, I still get paid to be an artist and support my family so it's all good. But I am really happy for you :).

I am actually almost as old as you LOL, I was 5 when SW figs started making their way to toy shelves. We had Hills and K-mart. My Grandma got me R2, C-3PO and Vader as my first figures along with the Landspeeder. I remember that like it was yesterday! I had the early bird but my R2's sticker started to peel and his clicker quit working, which is why she got me him again. I remember my Dad was ticked at her for "spoiling me".

I may just admire this from afar. Congrats to those ordering her.

Collectiblesdirect have it for £480 which sounds crazy for a 1/6 piece, it does look nice though... love the helmeted look so I am tempted...

Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of the immortal Amazons from Greek mythology. When army pilot Steve Trevor crashes on the warriors’ secluded island paradise, Diana wins the right to escort him home and make her people known to the world. Entering our cynical world for the first time, there’s a lot she must wrap her head around, especially our ways of war, hate, and, well… dating. Helping her are her superhuman strength and speed, as well as the trademark bulletproof bracelets, but it’s probably her Golden Lasso of Truth most people really wish they had. Torn between a mission to promote peace and her own warrior upbringing, Wonder Woman fights evil while hoping to unlock the potential of a humanity she doesn’t always understand."

Quite like this, probably more than the tweeterhead ww. But I don’t think much of the price.

A few years back SS PFs were $400 each. Now xm are doing their 1/6s for more than that after tax and £100 shipping.
