Don't know what the Canadian customs charge is but my Cap was about $770 USD ($200 for shipping) to my door. Would customs be more than $200?

Mine was almost $800 to the UAE . The total Includes customs charges. Maybe the $1000 is aftermarket second purchase?

When I calculated one it came out to around $800 shipped to California with no customs added yet.

I know savage. He lives in California just like me. If you bought Cap from Simply Toys at the time they had them...you would have gotten one shipped to LA for a little under $700.

Are you going by MSRP on XM Studios website? If so, you are not taking into account the stores that offer discounts.....significant ones at that.

I got my Cap from SC for a little over $740 shipped. Nowhere close to $1K.

Going to make a small print size of these. Figured there were alot of people that would dig an Alex Ross style cap (younger version) and since XM had only produced one portrait with their cap I felt it was necessary to make my own! One detachable head seemed like such a waste when there could be two

I agree. With the consumer friendly reputation XM is building... Wouldn't put this past them as completely planned. Having the hands/arms and heads being removable, giving fans their options when it comes to custom pieces.
Knowing that they have a winter soldier statue coming as well, I think your custom head and arm with shield out will probably display better with what they are most likely planning for tWS. (Assuming it will most likely be in some gun wielding/pointing fassion)

Damn! That looks absolutely sick Kenmk1. So much better looking than a closed fist XM had with this piece. Cap looks every bit the field general he is. Such a simple yet great customization. Adds so much to the piece. He totally looks like he's leading his fellow Avengers into battle.
Hell Yes! It's great seeing these customizations for this piece. This is going to look great. Congrats James. Can't wait to see it.
