Which Hot Toys Civil War Figures Will You Buy?

Preordered: Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow

Spider-Man is a day one preorder for me. (This will be my first representation for these characters, except for Iron Man. Just got the Mark 33 a couple months ago. I plan on having 1 variant for Iron Man and Spider-Man, which is the 33 of course and whenever they do the symbiotic suit.) I'm on the fence with Bucky tho, I'll either make a custom with parts of cw and ws bucky, or just buy new sculpt, gun, and base for my ws bucky and call it a day.

This film will be my one stop shop for most of my marvel collection and then I'm done with marvel until Infinity War if anything.

Having seen the film I think I want the Mark XLVI for sure. Also probably Ant-Man, Black Panther, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Spider-Man. I'm honestly tempted to get the whole line but there are so many characters. As much as I like the look of Crossbones I'm unsure on getting him after seeing the film.

There was a thread of a 3 vs 3 figure lineup in here somewhere, and I'm damned if I can find it. Can't remember who my third member of Team Iron Man would be, but after seeing the movie, if I was to do a 3 vs 3 display it would be..

Team Cap - Cap, Bucky, Falcon. No brainer for more than one reason. Bucky is Bucky, and Falcon is Cap's bromance. He was his sidekick in Winter Soldier, and he even got a small bro role in AoU. (War Machine at least was a late addition to the final fight)

Team Iron Man - Iron Man and

Spoiler:

War Machine. He's Tony's bro and sidekick in every solo movie, and even gets an Avenger's movie role. Despite being added to the Avengers lineup in the final minute of AoU, he at no time in Civil War seems that associated to the Team Cap team. He's there pretty quick smart when it comes time to arrest them though... and,

Black Panther - he is the one member of the team aside from Tony with personal reasons, as well as political to want to battle Team Cap.

There is a lot more loyalty and brotherhood in Team Cap than Team Iron Man.

So far I have promo cap and I just ordered winter soldier today. Very tempted to get all of team cap. Falcon, Scarlett, Ant-Man. Tempted to get the Mark 46, War Machine and if Spidey went up I would be very tempted to hit the order button right away.

Team IM made it seem like they were appealing to the masses by thinking that they were creating some sort of utopia, a better and safer place for everyone, but face to face, they weren't very loyal on a one on one basis.

After watching the movie I may get Cap, Bucky and Iron Man. I enjoyed BP and Spidey but will probably wait and see what they look like in their own films. I'm unsure about Wanda and Black Widow (this was my favorite performance by her in any of the films)

Definitely passing on Hawkeye, Falcon, Ant Man, Vision, War Machine and Crossbones.

Interesting point about Rhodey. We never actually see him as part of the new Avengers team, I'm guessing he had some military business to attend to while they were in Lagos. But yeah, he was really the only one on Tony's side who was there for the cause and I guess Vision, whose logic steered him ... but he's got that soft spot for Wanda ... Black Panther was solely out for revenge, Widow was trying to stay on the right side of the law and Spidey was a naive kid trying to impress Tony.

I think they could have gotten away with Cap, Bucky, Falcon vs IM, WM and Black Panther with Sharon Carter vs Black Widow H2H maybe seperate to the main fight for a fight between the 'non-supers'.. but that wouldn't work for the whole Team vs Team theme. Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Spidey weren't needed for the plot. Nor was Vision really for that matter, if you take out Vision and Scarlet Witch subplot. Not that I would ever say no to Scarlet Witch screen time.

We haven't seen them work together as Avengers, so perhaps they don't get along too well? If Rhodey is still in the Military than he really shouldn't be a part of the Avengers if he's going into other countries anyway really.

I guess that's why I prefer Steve over Tony, he's a guy that you would follow into battle and trust in their instincts. Tony just doesn't have that loyalty with his friends. Considering he was responsible for Ultron and Sokovia himself, he should have just given up Iron Man and realised he can't really be trusted with the power.

Alright, having seen the movie twice now, i'm definitely getting:

Steve
Bucky
Clint
Wanda
Natasha
Crossbones

and as much as I LOVED. LOVED T'Challa in this film, the prototype suit still just doesn't look right to me. It still needs that texture it had in the film. I'm sure HT can nail it. Spidey, i'm definitely passing on until we see what he's got going in Homecoming....yeah i'm gonna be on of those "i'll wait till the next film" things but I can totally pass on a Spidey right now. Same goes with Scott. I'm sure he's gonna get a new suit in his next film along with Hope.

Definitely passing on Vision, though.

but ht has more than once changed material drastically from protos, especially for their spider-men.

100% agreed. I never really bought the friendship between Steve and Tony in Avengers/AoU, but the bonds between Cap and his team are palpable. I can't wait to see Team Cap interact again going forward.

I found Tony very hypocritical in CW. I think Pym was right when he said "Never trust a Stark."

Looking at a maybe iron man and cap. This is the best I've seen Tony/Iron man.

he lost but he did serious damage on both cap and bucky, also the final close quarter combat against cap was pretty badass. Plus dropping moral compass after seeing parents get killed.]
