What figure do you regret passing on the most?

I can't think of anything really. Anything I was tempted by and passed on I guess I'm happily living without.
Maybe you don't dwell on it and that's great! But there's gotta be at least one figure that you said to yourself at least once, "damn, I should have picked that one up." Even if you just shrug and go "oh well" right after.

Those Blitzway GB's for sure. That's okay though. A lot of custom heads, especially ones that were painted by the artists, from ages ago. The Daniel Craig Casino Royale sculpt that was sculpted and painted by Feng Studios (I think) many years ago before it got recast for a TTL Gestapo figure.

The Last Samurai figures
That's also one for me. Probably up there with how much I regret the Rico one, I just forgot about it yesterday since Starship Troopers was fresh in my mind.

I love The Last Samurai. One of my favorite movies. I kick myself all the time for not getting that Poptoys figure. The armor looked amazing. Would have really stood out on my shelf.

Yep, that one as well. The armored Algren figure looks very impressive and I'd loved to have it in my collection.

Hmmm, not quite what you're asking but I used to really regret missing (as opposed to passing on) Hot Toys Hicks, Apone and Vasquez from Aliens. But I long ago sold off my Ripley, Hudson and Drake after which I stopped caring. And those figures would be so dated now I'd have no interest anymore. 2.0s please Hot Toys!

I kinda regretted selling my Hot Toys Marty McFly (the first release) and all my Dutch (Predator) figures of which I used to have 3. At this point I wouldn't buy these back, I don't think. For Back to the Future I think I'll be happy with my NECA collection together with the Tomy Delorean when that comes out. And that Dutch figure is also dated now - my regret in selling him is purely from a ''Toy historical'' perspective with Arnie being one of my favorite subjects. Similarly I kinda wish I had kept at least one fully stock Hot Toys MMS117 T2 T-800 for historical purposes. Again, its a dated figure now but when that was first shown it was a heck of a good time on the forum and obviously when we received the figure.

I also used to have Hot Toys Chris Taylor and Sgt Barnes from Platoon. The latter in particular had a terrific likeness to Tom Berenger. I sold those when it became clear Hot Toys were not going to make Elias (Willem Dafoe) - it seemed pointless having only 2 of what should have been a trinity. But there's been times I missed those figures.

Oh and my Enterbay Jack Bauer from 24, with cool alternate clothes from Subway Toys (if memory serves) - I sold that during a cutback phase.

But as regards stuff that I had every opportunity to buy, didn't and then it was sold out - I don't think there's anything. And if I did have a regret I'm sure it could still be bought from someone like ToysBuyingAgent - he seems to have lots of ancient stuff.

Good topic! There’s quite a number of figures I “missed out” out on either because I wasn’t as hardcore collecting then or I simply wasn’t interested at the time. With that, for myself I don’t feel much regret at all towards my collection. There’s only one piece I do feel that way towards, which is: The Queen Studios Captain Marvel Life-sized bust.

I suppose I would pick up these figures now if it not were for the aforementioned reasons above:

- HT ANH/RO Darth Vader
- HT ANH Princess Leia
- HT ANH Obi-Wan Kenobi
- HT ESB Hoth Princess Leia
- HT ANH Han Solo
- HT ROTJ Princess Leia
- HT QS ROTJ Boba Fett
- HT RO Jyn Erso
- HT ROTS Obi-Wan
- HT Alien Ripley
- HT DX13 T2 T-800
- HT QS Terminator Endoskeleton
- HT T1 Shootout T-800
- HT DX10 T2 T-800
- HT JW2 John Wick
- HT DX11 TDK Joker
- HT TR Hela
- HT DOFP (2015) Wolverine
- HT CA:CW Scarlet Witch
- HT AOU/NA Scarlet Witch
- HT CA:CW War Machine
- HT AOU Hawkeye
- HT AOU Hulk
- HT CA:CW Hawkeye
- HT CA:CW Black Widow
- HT SS1 Harley Quinn
- HT STM 1978 Superman
- HT The Avengers Hulk
- HT Matrix Neo
- EB 1/4 T-800
- EB 1/4 Battle-Damaged T-800
- EB 1/4 TDK Batman (Begins suit)

I’m sure there’s some more :lol

I was stupid enough to think Hot Toys would make an official Metal Gear Solid V figure so I skipped Lim Toys one. That's my greatest regret

And when Damtoys Assassin's Creed line started I was still in collage and without money so is not much of a regret but just bad luck

BTTF Part 2 Marty. Now I have the part 2 Delorean and no Marty.

Deluxe Jyn Erso

Han Stormtrooper in disguise. I have Luke.

The funny thing about regrets is that they tend to diminish over time, then sometimes creep up and bite me at the most unexpected times. It's usually when a fellow collector posts a sick photo of a figure I passed on and I'm suddenly triggered to desire it again. For the most part I don't have any regrets because I bought everything I wanted and quite often paid much less than the retail price if I bought at the right time (i.e. bought ANH Leia used/new off a guy back when it first was released, but wasn't a hot seller).

There were times when I missed out on some figures, but paid through the nose on the secondary market if I had the money. That seems to be the trick: keep searching, set a real market budget, then bite when you have the money, even if you go over budget. But don't ever look back at the cost!

I was lucky to buy the Ghostbusters set for the original price just before it sold out, but couldn't afford the Ecto-1 at the time. The Ecto-1 was a big regret, but a few years later I had the disposable income and paid almost double. Similarly, I regretted not buying any Scarlet Witch figures, but got busy last year tracking them down and bought them all in a short two weeks. Didn't pay more than I expected, but had I waited a year I could have saved a good amount of cash because they go for less now. Anyway, that was last year's summer's collecting project and I'm done with it now.

Regret seems to be more about overpaying if I dwell on it. However, overpaying is offset by holding out and snagging exceptional deals, which I've lucked out with many times. In the end I'll never know whether the accounting balances out on over-versus-under paying. It's all just part of the collecting insanity. I will say there is almost no figure that is out of our reach if we set some goals, time and budget to find it. With a lot of patience that regret can be absolved by snagging a great deal price and coming in under-budget.

I can say I wish I bought Count Dooku, but I had a hard personal policy of not buying any Prequel figures. The policy still holds, but I should have made the exception for a Christopher Lee figure.

The only one that comes to mind for me is the Viper Rooted Last Samurai figure. Wanted it, but didn’t feel right at the time spending that kind of money on it.

This is where I’m at right now. I don’t really regret passing on anything I had plenty of time to order. Maybe sometimes when I see a cool pic, but otherwise I’m doing just fine without it. If anything, I think I regret making the POs/purchases that I do more than not :lol

I have had this happen to me three times this year: I procrastinated on a purchase, weighing my options, then finally bit the bullet and bought it (usually a big ticket item). Then I found out I bought the last one that retailer had. That is a pretty satisfying feeling to vanquish FOMO. Or at least it justifies the purchase. Or something
