There's a really cool attraction in Fantasyland called Fairy Tale Forest, with miniatures of popular princess dwellings. It's much like Storybook Land but it's a walk through.

From there, walked past Toy Story Land

And Grizzly Gulch

Time to explore Adventureland

Tarzan's Treehouse is on an island and you need to board rafts to explore it.

Of course!!

Now we're about to board the Jungle Cruise. You can ride it in THREE different languages! English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese. I do NOT advise riding it in English because you won't understand it anyway. You'll just be trying so hard to understand that it'll affect your enjoyment of just looking at the animal animatronics and what not.

The ride itself surrounds the Tarzan Treehouse island, which is interesting layout but it works out ok.

Something interesting about this version is that there's a creepy rock that spouts fire. This is the finale basically.

Back to Fantasyland.. this park is so small that it's quite easy to go from land to land rather quickly.

Cast Members bus all tables at this eatery but it's completely outdoors and sometimes aren't quick enough. Birds have caught on and enjoy the spare bits of rice when it's there.

Trying to finish off the first day of HK Disneyland here....

They were real dicks about taking pictures on Grizzly Runaway Mine Cars but I managed this one.

Mystic Manor was a 5 minute wait so I did it a few more times. Best ride in the entire park.

Danny Elfman did the music. Wish it was on an album somewhere.

Winnie the Pooh - i think it's identical to Florida's.

This is the third Hong Kong Hotel coming soon... themed to explorers. This was how it looked in early July.

While I'm here I may as well start day 2 of HKDL... You can get to Hong Kong Disneyland from the airport or from the main city by train. It's a separate switch from the main line but it's really nicely done.

Quite similar to one of the Monorail stations at Downtown Disney in California

From the station is a short humid walk back to the park

Iron Man Experience opening in January.

2017: Iron Man Experience ride, Disney Explorer Lodge hotel
2018: Moana daytime show and meet & greet in Adventureland; new Marvel ride replacing Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
2019: supersize castle & hub and new shows
2020: Frozen - Kingdom of Arendelle with two rides: Frozen Everafter (like Epcot) and Oaken's Wandering Sleigh (like Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters) and meet & greet
2023: Avengers E-Ticket

That means Hong Kong will have the largest Marvel presence of any Disney Park worldwide. Impressive. Happy about the updated castle, unsure with the final approved design.

Edit: I have an odd question for whoever might know. We are at Disneyland on Tues/Weds, and we saw an ad on the TV for the holiday event (with the Xmas decorations etc), Mickey was wearing a Christmas jumper and I'm wondering if he wears similar for the photo ops over the holidays?

We found him yesterday near the bottom of Main Street and he was wearing the jumper from the ad (green with snow flakes on it). Once I sort my photos out I'll put a couple on here.

Overall really loved both parks. Hyperspace Mountain was fantastic, but the real standout was The Haunted Mansion makeover, it's so well done!

First meal was at Crystal Lotus... ordered an Old Fashioned. It was so-so but... i needed a drink after being delayed at Shanghai Airport.

Honestly can't remember what these dishes were just looking at them, but we were in Hong Kong so obviously the chinese food was going to be delicious.

Duffy is huge in Japan. They have a couple of shops that were mostly dedicated to Duffy merch in the Tokyo parks.
