Red Faction & UFC Demo Now Available

It seems that the whole of Xbox Live is buzzing with activity today, whether you're talking about the Marketplace and the masses of DLC, or whether you're focusing on the new demos ... there surely should be something for everyone. The two new demos up are both THQ games, the hugely anticipated UFC Undisputed and Red Faction: Guerilla.

The UFC Demo may not be on the new demos page yet, but can be found by going to All Demos > U > UFC 2009 Undisputed. It weighs in at a paltry 530 MBs and features playable UFC fighters Chuck "The Iceman" Lidell and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The three-round demo contest depicts the renowned Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas while supporting 1-2 players. Mario Yamasaki serves as the referee. In addition, players can navigate a portion of the game’s Tutorial Mode for more information about UFC 2009 Undisputed’s unique gameplay controls, as well as the sport of mixed martial arts.

The Red Faction: Guerilla demo on the other hand fan be found in the latest demos section and weighs in at 770 MBs. The Red Faction: Guerilla demo is single player only and hopes to give players a chance to test out the GeoMod 2.0 ... in other words ... destructive environments like you've never seen them before. Red Faction Guerilla, the full retail version, is set for a June 2nd release.

the game is quite fun, i'm surprised it's as fun as it is. it's alot like fight night, but it's MMA instead of boxing.

for those who have played the demo, is a realistic fighting game or more like a wwe game? i think some mma knowledge would b needed to answer this question..........

Well, there is definately one punch hits, but the amount of punishment they can take is pretty unrealistic imo...for example I just landed three unblocked headkicks with Chuck and Shogun wasn't even rocked.

The commentary is really cool. Mike Goldberg just mentioned Ninja Rua.

I really enjoyed the game,all the moves are animated and looks kinda like the Smackdown vs Raw moves,not the most realistic looking game but very fun,can´t wait for the full game!

Ive mastered the Stand Up and ground game defense but still struggle HARD to find the right positions on the Ground game offense.

I can't advance position for anything. I can get to half gaurd, but can't figure out how to get side control or mount. I suck pretty bad at being on my back too.

Yeah the defense is not actually that difficult when you have tried a couple of times because you simply use 1 Right Analog Stick move to kick out or roll away,it´s worse with finding the position on top if you want to full mount him or something like you said,that´s what i struggle with now too.

I got top position changes down now. You have to spin it in the correct direction.

Leg kicks don't seem to do anything in this. I did nothing but leg kicks to Chuck for two rounds, then he superman punched me and won.

I have tried everything, I have even tried when the screen goes gray, but the opponent always gets out of the hold

Only one, and it's not from lack of attempts. They are difficult to pull off. Hopefully it will be easier with guys like BJ, Mir, Leites, etc.

just downloaded it and trying it now...first attempt i knocked out chuck. now i'm actually trying to learn the moves and what not. i'm very impressed with the visuals and animations in this game.

Downloaded the game yesterday and can't stop playing it. It's frakking awesome. I've mastered everything but getting a submission. Someone on youtube shows how to do it but it's so difficult. This game rocks and is so unpredictable. I was kicking Chucks ass and out of nowhere he knocked me out. May can't come soon enough.

Just downloaded the demo. Just played around the stand up striking. Pretty cool game.
