20. Curse of the Werewolf (1960) (For me the definitive Lycanthrope film)

1- JAWS (a plus, this is my all-time fave movie)
2- The Exorcist (would be #1 but for JAWS...)
3- The Innocents (bw 1960, gives me the heebeejeebees! BAD!)
4- Nosferatu (1922 blew me away first time I saw it on big screen)
5- The Haunting (1961, more heebeejeebees!)
6- The Ring (remake, not Ringu. More heebees...)
7- Exorcist III (scarier, but not better, than original to me)
8- Halloween (I mean, c'mon! THE Boogeyman movie of all time!)
9- Mothman Prophecies (brilliant film to me)
10- Blair Witch Project (often misunderstood, always brilliant! A mindgame!)

I must say Les that that is a list of movies to respect. However, it seems alot of posters on this board don't seem to realize that movies WERE around before 1960.

Watched The Hitcher & The Innocents today and can safely say they have no room in my top 10. Rutger Hauer was haunting as the psychotic, self-confident, & daring hitch-hiker. The story flows well enough with a few sporatic scares, and builds enough tension to keep you interested. Ultimately loses points though for the lack of realism.

The Innocents was painfully boring and was the polar opposite of compelling. It never draws you in and only stays afloat thanks to an interesting plot aided by splendid acting & directing. No atmosphere, elementary dialogue, novice sound, and no jolts in the story to get the film moving in a direction you want to follow. An ending that is pretentious and ultimately leaves you cold.

You have got to be kidding,no atmosphere in The Innocents? I guess Scream is less painfully boring,huh?

I watched Session 9 today and enjoyed it. I know this is a top 10 thread so I won't post a summary for this one or any of the others, but I recommend this one over the previous two I summarized.

Session 9

Session 9 is an interesting film. I just saw it about a month ago. Some creepy moments but on the whole it didn't have much of the 'horror' film feel for me, it seemed much more suspense/pschological/mystery. Of course the horror genre is soooo broad but there are some films that get lumped into the genre that just don't seem to really fit there 100%. It had a good premise and of course watching Peter Mullan is always a treat (he's just so good at what he does in films).

Well Nightmare on elm scared me the most,But I was 8 when I first watched it,Now I can watch it and it does not even make me jump.
