I have the omnibus and the original issues. You are in for a great read. Enjoy.

Absolutely :goodpost:

Well about 2K later...I have a ****load of Omnibus, absolute editions and Epic collections on the way. LOL...thank god for In Stock Trades and Ebay. Converting some graphic novels and misc HC books to Omni's and some classic story arc's like Hush, Haunted Knight, Batman & Robin (Miller &Lee) in Absolute editions...so I can clear out a bunch of the smaller books floating around the house.

I really do enjoy the Marvel Epic Collections..great size for reading in bed...pretty complete story lines and no gutter loss. Priced is amazingly cheap for what you get and don't have to worry about the kids destroying them.

Back to this statue....the more I look at it the more excited I am for it. Really am hoping that Sideshow can pull this off as not really having ease of access to XM this would be a terrific thing if Sideshow can start doing these types of statues with great success.

Was saving my points for the Prime 1 Evil Dead Ash. Since it looks like that will never see the light of day, this Thor will be a nice free statue!

Every piece should be designed as this one was. Super fresh, all out action in a classic way. Thor flying down in to battle slamming his hammer. Captain america mid shield throw or strike. Ironman flying and blasting.

You're bang on. I absolutely love everything about this piece. I was just watching Ragnarok last night and I saw this shot:

They nailed it.

Now I'm just trying to figure out if the EX is worth paying extra (since I'm NZ, the shipping and tax is high).

In your case, I’d say no. Unless you really like the ex and it’s worth all those hundreds more dollars, I don’t think getting the ex for resale purposes is valid anymore.

I do like the dual weapon pose, a lot. Would look nice with the Jane Foster Ex. If this one had Jarnbjorn, I'd defs get it, but Stormbreaker at times looks out of place.

I think it looks awesome. Duel wielding anything is cool. I'm sure a bunch of customs will come too. I wouldn't mind seeing Jarnbjorn, or maybe even a horn of mead! haha

Ive collected Sideshow and other companies statues for many years, but believe me until I saw a Prime 1 and XM in person, I didnt believe how good they were. A lot of people say Im not paying 1K, but after purchasing I would happily pay twice as much for them.

Other than the THOR Breaker of Brimstone statue, I think Sideshow is going to fall behind XM and Prime 1. They are seriously going to have to step up to compete.

I’m a big fan of all 3 companies, but I think you’re short changing Sideshow. They have many other stellar pieces, not just Thor. Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, X-23, and others.

Sideshow set the standard that others have been following for a long time, I don't think they're going anywhere anytime soon. Collectors come and go, just be grateful there's a lot of options while you're around.

No they don't have to step up. So long as XM merch is hard to hunt down and shipping costs remain ridiculous, sideshow will be just fine. As for Prime 1, they can only release whatever 1/4 scale Marvel or DC pieces sideshow allows. Sideshow has the 1/4 North American game on lockdown. If you don't believe that...ask Prime 1 what happened to their 1/4 Marvel statues. The statue game is rigged just like casinos. Sideshow is the house and they'll always win so long as they're allowed to keep their exclusive 1/4 licenses with Marvel and DC.

I got my first XM piece this past weekend and I'm not really impressed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad statue. It's actually great but it's not head and shoulders above SS. If anything it's extremely comparable to SS, if I had never seen it and someone told me it was a SS piece, I would believe it.

Which statue?
