think ssc will make new bond movie figures?

Hmm, it's a hard call to make. Either way I think they would do well with it. Of coarse, having them ready near the launch of the movie could prove to be a worthwhile thing seeing as people often buy stuff from a movie once they have seen it. But hey, who knows. SSC is always full of surprises. :D

Someone posted some prototypes pics of Craig Bond a while back but apparently Craig was not happy with the likeness so they are redoing it.

They are definitely doing it. Craig doesn't have much to say about it other than his likeness. There are merchandising contracts with Sony and EON.

well atlease criag cares about the figure... he doesn't want some half assed sculpt that looks nothing like him... I'm glad he doesn't like it... now SST will make improvements..

if it didn't look good to him, it probably wouldn't look good to us... so I'm glad they're improving it... I might pick it up if I like the new movie... my first bond movie of my generation.

We saw the prototype and it looked great. And unfortunately even if he's an unknown actor he's going to have veto approval on his likeness.

If he won't approve it, there's nothing Sony, MGM or EON can do about it.

You can't blame the guy for wanting it to look like him right? I know if there was a figure of me I'd want it to actually look like me and not just resemble me. As long as he isn't making this figure get canceled, then let him nit pic it.

But if they make adjustments and resubmit and he keeps saying no - what are they supposed to do?

For the last Bond film we had figures announced long before release. I'm afraid we may not be destined to see Craig immortalized in plastic at all.

heres another good question, who thinks hel do a good job, i think hel do a decent job if not good. what do you guys think

I'm guessing the next Lazenby, or perhaps Dalton. I don't think he will be making more than 2 or 3 films, but I'll reserve my final judgement for after I see the film.

Unless Craig keeps vetoing it, I think we'll see one. But I think Dave has a good point, it seems a long time in coming and I suspect that the Legacy line was supposed to lead up to it. If we're going to get one I think it will be announced no later than Nov. 16 (the newsletter day before the movie opens here in the US) otherwise I have the proverbial bad feeling about this...

And as for him nit picking it so that it looks like him, it's quite possible he wants one that looks a bit more idealized than he actually looks. Not saying he's ugly, or that he's vain, just tossing it out as a variable.

On the other hand someone once posted that Brosnan was very picky with his sculpt, so maybe it'll just take a bit to get it just right.

As for how he'll do as Bond...I don't think that his acting is what will keep him or kill him. I think it will be how good this movie is and how people accept this reboot or retcon or non-chronological prequel or whatever you want to call it.

I'll say it... he's ugly. He has a craggly looking face and the prototype pics I thought captured his ugly mug quite faithfully. If Craig is so vain that he has to idealize his looks to make himself appear to be more handsome than we all know he actually is then he should take a good look at all of the other sculpts which were close but not "dead-on" likenesses. What should he care anyway? He's getting paid and I don't think Craig is the kind of guy that collects "action figures" like we do.

Perhaps Sideshow's just waiting to see what kind of reception the movie gets before commiting to production. For a new Bond movie, especially one with a new actor taking over the role, Casino Royale seems to me to have surprisingly little buzz surrounding it.

Call me a naysayer but I am not keen to Craig taking on the role. I know he has gained growing support from those who have seen test screenings and the trailers got a lot of skeptics excited because it is a more serious Bond but to me it just isn't Bond. He's already signed for the next one but I give him 2, maybe 3 at most. I was hoping Pierce would at least tie with Connery but it was not to be.

If I had an action figure with my face, I think I'd be too creeped out to have it around.

I like what I've seen of him in the trailers so far. He's not as pretty and suave as the other Bonds, but I think that's probably a good thing. A modern Bond needs to be a little rougher around the edges.

I wasn't a big fan of Brosnan. I'm looking forward to seeing what Craig does with the role. The whole BOND thing needs a solid revamp. I'll find out Nov. 7th at a screening.

Last word... Connery is and was the last great Bond.
