For me it still begs the question as to why water is his Kryptonite but not for his new friends. Purely as a nerdy academic exercise, I won't lose sleep over it.

Combination of weight including wet cloak and vaguely remember something about cold shock on a human system. If you've been on a watery planet for a while you are probably more used to diving in.

TBH Mando's armor looks a lot more upscale than the Night Owls; they didn't seem to be carrying explosives either. Night Owls are more stripped down. Also Mando had been trying to breath and dealing with spears being poked at him.

I am more baffled about the baby frog growth....like Prometheus when the squid baby morphed to a gigantic size with no nutrition in a few hours. WTF.

But, OK, it's scifi.

Used to be on forums general agreement was 72 hours, but that was films.

This is where it falls down for me and causes me to nerd-pick: he almost drowns but Bo's people can move and breathe just fine underwater? What makes their helmets and armour different? I might accept it as a plot device if I thought it was necessary, but I'm not seeing it.

the Koska Reeves character didn't have to worry about anyone locking the cage on her, so she only had to deal with the sea creature (i.e., drowning wasn't a concern).

Watching Katee Sackhoff as live action Bo Katan was awesome and seeing Titus Welliver as the Imperial Captain was a great surprise!

Regarding why mando seems to be having issue with water

Spoiler:

it seems the nite owls helmet has a suction thing going on when removing, implying some kind in in built breathing system.

Don?t remember mando helmet having that when he took of his helmet in season one.

So instead of nitpicking the answer is right there, his helmet doesn?t have a breathing system

Upon reflecting on the episode, the sound of a seal hissing was quite distinct for the other Mandos, so it seems he hasn't got the experience points for that upgrade yet.

Interesting wrinkle in Mando's character development ... he's probably just not that good.

The Quarren lured him into a trap that any skilled bounty hunter should've spotted. As mentioned earlier, he jumped in after The Child without thinking. These two instances on top of the other things people have mentioned, like Cara Dune getting the drop on him.

And the other interesting tidbit re-inforced by Bo-Katan, he was trained by 'the bad guys'.

It's interesting seeing real Mandalorians (born on Mandalore) tell The Mandalorian that he's wrong about what The Way is all about. Hopefully the show deals with that a bit more in future episodes. I'm more interested in a story arc rather than these quick little planet-hopping visits that has become the format of the show.

I think it was the best episode of the season for me, even with my TCW bias aside.

Great episode, also surprised Bryce directed this. Great cgi on the jet pack flying and the lumbering Imperial ship.
Gives me hope for the live action Halo series in development.
That kid sure is quick with closing his floating crib. Lol.
Good stuff.

Tony Stark probably shouldn't survive most of the impacts he sustains as Iron Man if it were realistic. Seems like there's little to no room for cushioning inside his suits and with the speed he travels at and the maneuvers he pulls I feel like his body would be getting ripped apart at the joints and smashed.

It?s pandering when they take a competent male character and make him incompetent in multiple ways just to show the competence of the female character. Million different ways to show how Cara is a badass without making Mando come off as weak and dumb. .

Did you watch the episode? The entire first scene is her kicking some giant maul guys butt all over the place.

Mando was not singled out. Seems your taking it way out of context because she hurt your MANdo.
