I'm shocked they haven't given Boba a romantic intrest. Fennec is right there, similar in age, and they live together already. That'd be more interesting to me than his dreams.

That'll likely be Tony Gilroy's Andor, with Stephen Schiff (see The Americans)
A straight Rebel Spy Thriller, as the lead loses his identity and humanity.
Obi-Wan team will likley turn him into another caricature of himself, and get into exploring Vader's "feelings" with subtlety of a cartoon mallet. (Disney can't help themselves).

I might be inclined to feel the same way if this show had somehow come out years ago with Jeremy Bulloch in the suit and Wingreen's voice. But this Fett is so very far removed from lean and sinister badass that saw 40 years ago that it's easy for me to see it as its own separate thing. ROTJ was a definite let down but the real damage began in AOTC IMO. That was the moment that I realized that the character that I loved from the OT was gone forever and never coming back.
Din Djarin was at least a close enough approximation and Tython Boba was at least Fett being a badass again even if he still didn't feel like a true continuation of OT Boba due to the differences in voice and physique. I've said it before but I basically just see him as more of a Batman or James Bond type character now. He's been portrayed so differently so many times across various media that the character, and especially his OT self, can't really be "ruined" by any new incarnation. At least not for me. I think most would agree that TDKR was more damaging to Christian Bale's Batman than say B&R or Josstice League because TDKR was actually Bale himself. BOBF is *not* Bulloch/Wingreen so I'm just enjoying it as its own separate thing.
I remember JAWS actually enjoying Josstice League because even though it was "bad" it reminded him of a Saturday Morning Cartoon. That's exactly what BOBF is for me. I could easily picture this show opening with a corny 80's theme song. Sure it's all super lame compared to theatrical ESB or even his recent appearances in Mando Season 2 but as a super campy live-action "Saturday Morning Cartoon" I'm finding it to be *extremely* entertaining.
But that said yeah, I get the hate, lol.

This ridiculous show doesn't ruin OT Boba Fett, if anything it just makes him cooler. It's just really disappointing that 40 years after the fact we had a shot at getting an awesome show about the most mysterious and feared bounty hunter in the galaxy and Lucasfilm takes the opportunity to humiliate yet another legacy character.
Agreed, what a huge tonal difference and actual real stakes and consequences. The story is so much easier to follow and coherent.

It's not really comparable in tone and style to any Star Wars media, but it's solid genre entertainment that looks like someone actually cared.

I was willing to accept Morrison as a continuation of the Boba Fett from the OT because of the 5 year gap between Jedi and Mandalorian. How he got out of the Sarlaac, what happened to him during that time and losing his armor I was picturing a tortured 5 years which made his appearance acceptable. The scars on his head and imagination of his journey the past 5 years somehow made Morrison Boba Fett to me. The mystery of his past (even his journey between AOTC and Empire I could justify in my head because of the years between them) has always been a draw to his character. The Book of Boba Fett has Morrison walking around like a dullard, not knowing the customs of Tatooine, how the job of a crime boss would work, or asking 8D8 the power structure of the crime syndicates until well after he has failed several times in his new role. He’s an idiot. He would be Fredo Corleone taking over the family business. This is not Boba Fett. This is Fredo Fett.

It’s not afraid to let loose and have fun too, the first time I watched the intro I was very worried this was going to be terrible. After watching the first three episodes the intro is just perfect.
