NOTE: This is not a popularity contest.
Based on the acknowledged/respected GI JOE RAH canon . . . name the baddest of the bad@$$ GI JOE RAH characters and provide a brief sentence or two, etc. stating why in support of your identification as a bad@$$ JOE.
I'll start . . .
STALKER: I grew up reading the comic book published by Marvel Comics. From the very first issue on . . . Stalker demonstrated and proved himself to be a capable and formidable leader through his participation in many actions throughout the run of the series. His dialogue and quips ranged from deadly serious to humorous and his association/connection to many key GI JOE RAH characters makes him a definite bad@$$.
SNAKE-EYES: Any of us who read the comic book series KNOW he's a bad@$$ plain and simple. My proof to support his bad@$$ status is GI JOE #21. Enough said.
STORM SHADOW: The ninja master IMHO is a bad@$$ during and after his association with COBRA. IMHO . . . his bad@$$ was cemented during his and Snake-Eyes two man assault on COBRA Island (GI JOE #46), his death, his resurrection, and his joining the GI JOE team in later issues.
HAWK: The original leader of the team. Hawk's leadership and discipline of the team worked well. Even though he is an officer, his file card mentioned that his men do what he asks because he will not ask his men to do what he would not do himself . . . a quality and trademark of a superb leader. I'll cite two examples from memory . . . GI JOE #16 when he took on Destro during their raid in Washington and GI JOE #47 when he arrived on the scene to personally take charge of the Snake-Eyes & Storm Shadow island assault debacle after being promoted to Brigadier General and leading Beach-Head & Wetsuit in the Devilfish(s) to retrieve Snake-Eyes & Storm Shadow.
ROADBLOCK: First off, any infantryman who can single handed field a Browning .50 caliber is a bad@$$ outright, but Roadblock's history within GI JOE is memorable. His first appearance with Duke where they took down the COBRA Rattler prototype that was about to strike the GI JOE team during General Flagg's funeral made an impression. His involvement with the capture of COBRA commander and COBRA commander's confinement & escape and Roadblock taking down Storm Shadow cemented his reputation in my view as a bad@$$.
OK . . . there are others who I would consider bonafide GI JOE RAH bad@$$, but the ones I mentioned are the ones that comes to my mind first and foremost.
